I vaguely remember reading this at school for A level.

It's being staged in London's West End, with Keira Knightley and Damian Lewis. Did you see him in Band of Brothers? And other things.

BUT: I've just looked for tickets and they are £85 each [blink] So, I think, out of the question.

I have a wonderful double DVD of Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, performed in an historically informed style, and with Lully's music.

The pronunciation of 'toutes les lettres' makes it much easier to hear!

Now that is real "culture" Norman! Very quaint . Is the Bourgeois Gentilhomme about someone who is nouveau riche? Another french phrase borrowed by the english.

I don't think the London version of the Misanthrope will be in that style, somehow [:D]

Yes exactly...and all the parasites around him (the musician, the dancing master, the fencing master and the Philosophy teacher..) trying to squeeze money out of him on the basis that what they can give him is people's opinion that he is a 'person of quality'

In one moment he finds that he has been talking prose all his life.

A bit like some politicians (think of Sarkozy's marriage)
