Firewood?

Just as well we don't rely on wood for our heating, because a lot of ours starts off like this

And finishes up like this

The wood is beech and bamboo. The bamboo was used for the tow bar and rails on the trailer because it is the strongest wood I could think of.

Since I made that one for me I have now made 2 more. One for my middle grandson and one for a commission. I modified the tow bar and trailer sides to try to make them stronger. I also think it looks better to?

They are beautiful. Looking at them I can only imagine how much work went into making each individual segment of each piece.

Patience doesn't really come into it really? It's like reading a really good book, I get my head stuck into it, the time flies and things appear. As for the skill of doing it, that has come after 15 years of past mastikes? It is something that I love doing.

They are turned as a shallow dish, cut in 1/2 on my band saw and then cut to the final shape back and front. They have to be thin, but too thin as to be fragile.

If I may be picky, mudguards on a tractor in this neck of the woods are not prototypical & would definitely be regarded as a sort-of GTI extra. A bit poncey.

The boys here prefer to spray as much crap in the air as possible - sadly for them, moisture on the roads and in the fields is hard to come by.
