Orange admin.....

My internet phone with Orange dropped out this afternoon. I went to the Orange site 192.168.1.1 as I have done in the past, but it will not accept my admin password. Have Orange changed it....any suggestions gratefully received.

You are referring to the Livebox configuration pages and only you can access these and only you can change the password.

The default login name is 'admin' and the default password is also 'admin'.

First step is to simply restart the livebox. This often restores the telephone service.

If that does not work, it would be best to do a factory reset of your livebox. This should also restart the telephone service assuming the Livebox is not damaged/faulty.

The reset procedure varies slightly depending on what model Livebox you have.

Remember that if you do a factory reset, you will need to re enter your adsl login and password (starts with fti/ - different to the other passwords referred to above.

If still no joy after that, you will need to contact Orange

BTW, you can also reset your livebox by opening the livebox tab in the Orange window if the 198.162.1.1 method does not work. We only found out about this today when the technician came to investigate our system! Only cost us €110.00 to get that info because he could not find any fault, having been without phone/internet since last thursday. Shame the helpline did not tell us about that as we now are fighting to get some compensation. Grrrrr

By "Orange Window" are you refering to your "espace client" web page under www.orange.fr? And if so, which option is it to reset the Livebox?

But in anycase, why didn't you just reset your Livebox the normal way by pressing the reset button on the bottom with a paper clip for 10 seconds?

I had the same problem last week.  Nothing happened after I had reset the livebox so I called the help number and they tested the box their end, told me the live box phone access was dead and invited me to pick one up the following day, which I did.  If I had to do it on line I think I would still be scratching my head and without phone access[Www]
