Not quite sure that I understand.

I'm with CA and I don't think that either my house or car insurance covers me for a breakdown or a flat tyre!! As it happens, I do get recovery to a VW garage if i break down en route, but thats only because the car is regularly serviced at a VW dealership.

Anyway, why not ring 02 31 55 67 89 and ask the people in the insuarance section?  That's Britline Cr Agricole by the way, but if you took Pacifica insurance through your local CA branch, then you'll need to talk to Pacifica direct - the number will be on your policy document.
Hi, is there anybody who is with Credit Agricole and can help me. what do I do if I break down, what number do I call, I have all risk, 0km. so what do I do if my car won't start or I have a flat tyre before leaving home. many thanks
Sort your own self out and avoid being laughed at when requesting that CA send someone out.

Sorry to sound harsh but thats how it is.

The number to be called for a genuine breakdown will be found on the green international certificate of assurance and also in your policy documentation. I would be surprised if they came out to change a tyre without charging you for the priveledge and be interested to know if I am incorrect.

Credit Agricole do describe their car insurance as "l'assurance auto du Credit Agricole", although I believe it is still via Pacifica.

Edit: Indeed it is Pacifica, in the small print at the bottom is:

"Le contrat d’assurance Automobile est assuré par PACIFICA, la compagnie d’assurance dommages, filiale de Crédit Agricole Assurances"

Details are here http://www.ca-languedoc.fr/particuliers/assurance-des-biens/assurance-auto.html

"Descriptif détaillé" at the bottom leads to this, which indeed states that assistance is available from your home.

So, call the number on your green certificate or on the back of your windscreen sticker.[:)]

Edit again: But be aware that "assistance" may mean that they will simply transport your car to a garage to sort out the problem, even if just a flat tyre [:(]

As a weak and feeble female - I didn't used to be but arthritis has put paid to that - I hope that the OP's cover does include rushing to her aid if she has a tyre blow whilst travelling. I certainly am no longer capable of changing a tyre on my own; so, if not covered by my assurance then I would have to flag down a passing motorist.

This has made me think re my own cover ... I will interrogate my insurance agent.

I was insured with Pacifica via CA, and am now with Groupama.

Under my "assistance" cover with both organisations I was certainly covered for a breakdown or a flat tyre, and have most certainly called on this service.

In fact I heve never taken out vehicle insurance in France without including assistance, having needed it on several occasions, including while in other countries.

Hi, many thanks for most of the replies, still not too sure about exactly what I am covered for, so I think I will go and ask exactly what is best for my situation, I need all the cover I can get with having a disabled husband who did the car side of everything.

I have got Assistance + but not Panne + and not too sure of the difference.

thanks again

Two things you can do for yourself is buy a Tin of Tyre Sealer / Inflater  amd a set of Jump Leads.( learn how to use them, safely)

If someone does stop, to help with a flat battery, at least it does not rely on them having Jump Leads as well as being kind hearted.

Many will say that Tyre Sealer is rubbish and will not work but at least its worth a try if its dark, wet and cold on an un-paved road and the garage have over tightened the wheel nuts with an air-tool

Hopefully you will never need them

It is totally impossible for us feeble females to undo the wheelnuts these days. They are tightened by machine at the place that last did them up. I had to get the AA to my car in London the other day to change a wheel (having checked that my cover included that service), and even the beefy guy with his super wheelbrace found it almost impossible.

Re cover for a French-reg car, mine is included in the vehicle insurance policy. When my French car did break down, I called it and they speedily sent a tow truck to convey it to a garage designated by them. Then they sent a taxi to drive me back to my house, about 15km away, and another a couple of days later to take me back to collect it. Of course, the actual repair was at my own (considerable) expense.

You can choose if you want cover from your own doorstep, or to start from farther afield. By default i had the latter, but happily was just far enough from base to be covered. I have now upped it to 0km.

I have not double-checked re wheel changes being covered, but will be doing so right now!

Assistance + will get your car to somewhere it will be repaired - the premises of the company running the recovery service, or the nearest main dealer for your car. This will normally just cover getting the car there, not repairs, but I have on occasion had a tow from a recovery vehicle when I had battery/starter problems. The other option you mention seems to be:

Garantie Panne Auto
Bénéficier de la prise en charge pièces et main-d’œuvre en cas de pannes mécaniques, électriques et électroniques d'origine aléatoire pour une liste d'organes couverts pour votre véhicule de moins de 6 ans lors de la souscription

This covers the cost of parts and labour for breakdown of critical mechanical, electrical and electronic parts on a list covered for your vehicle, for cars less than 6 years old at the time of subscribing to the option.

So you need to check what items this covers for your own vehicle, if it is less than 6 years old, and also what the franchise (excess payment) would be.
