1. Very sad news, although after several strokes life probably wasn't how it should be. This ontop of losing another top mod on the green forum. Sad week.
2. Has wooly a nice head of flaxen hair now?
3. Wooly, are you saying your cat identifies as a dog? what a mixed up world we inhabit!
4.
Snake oil: first catch a black mamba.....?
Are you sure black mamba is still allowed with PC Ness and racism. Mamba of colour surely?
5. With the take up of electric cars gaining popularity, HP/HC could make sense again. Don't forget the swimming pool if you have one.
6. Questionable whether that was done 30 years ago, relay is a more modern way. Originally probably a two way wired light. But you'll struggle to find a replacement these days
7.
If the cheap electricity perk of employees was removed, it would help; currently they pay 10% only for their electricity, costing 275million euros pa.
What do the sewage workers get? [:D]
8. Exactly the same as Anti-mousse or swimming pool algaecide found in brico sheds. Active ingredient: Benzyl Ammonium Chloride Which is hazardous to aquatic life so go careful around water courses.
9. If you are looking for an authentic looking stone finish not painted then using bags of patrimone from bricos would do the trick. It's finely crushed stone with a polymer cement binder and cannot be differentiated from limestone blocks. Available in Tours and Angers tones around our region, others may vary
10. Any flavour really, making contact on the target is the most appealing
11. Only if you don't own the land.
12. Not strictly as the wall part will not have been tested and certified. You may consider the risk worth taking when you understand what the regulation is trying to achieve. The fence (wall etc) should not be climbable ie no hand or foot holds to assist scaling the fence. No trees or bushes within 500mm that allow the scaling. Also higher than 1100 mm.
13. Your PRV is probably knackered. Pressure should not increase. Or fit balons inline with hot water tanks. https://www.caleffi.com/international/en-int/pressure-reducing-valves
14.
Crikey .. considering that you are talking about years and years ago I find your costs exceptionally high. 7.5 tonnes of your wood equates to approx 15m3 today. At approx 100€ a m3 at today's value that would mean a bill of 1500€ for 6 months wood heating .. I know where you lived but I am still in shock. It's no surprise that you were happy to change to town gas.
My relatives use about the same as Idun, their hopelessly inefficient insert is just trying to heat up France. It leaks so much heat up the chimney they have to burn so much wood to get the place warm. They would save money buying a new efficient insert and would recoup the cost in about two winters. It would also save some of the forest for the rest of us!
15. Air source heat pumps are a lot less costly to run than electric radiators, they also warm the room quicker as they have fan units instead of just radiated heat. Best to also suppliment with a wood burner/pellet burner but by far the best thing is insulation!
16. Well Idun, it's no coincidence that builders are careless slobs and get the contract to rebuild whatever they burn down. Cutty Sark and Hampton court were high powered halogen lamp fires I believe.
17. Glad you sorted it Ossie, I remember writing a reply but the forum software was glitchy and lost my reply, I then forgot to rewrite it.
18. I thought it was ok to serve meat and veg on the same plate provided they were not touching each other?
19. It's just a bit of fun before tomorrows march. Tresemme thinks she is in touch with real people hahahaha.
20. Without wishing to ruffle Idun, I still feel the first vote was one off the back of a pack of lies, denying another vote saying it upsets democracy seem to favour lies being allowed whereas punishing lies with another vote would in some way teach liars to curb their habits. What would brexiters fear from a second vote loosing? Now we have all the facts we should be allowed a new vote on the subject. I for one would be bound by the result either way but would feel the issue had at least been properly examined which you can't say of the first vote.
21. As the head of Kingfisher group is French I wouldn't hold out much hope, except she has stood down today so maybe things will improve.
22. No Alan, I like moles, especially the ones digging up Wooly's garden. ?
23. If we leave the EU, maybe they will tear up the agreement allowing the access to our vehicle database.
24. Thanks both, time to do some PC housekeeping. [geek]
