Hi You may be able to seal the skimmers with a good mastic Take the front from the skimmer and see what kind of fixings have been used, it could be a good idea to remove them and mastic them in correctly before screwing them back in. The Algea should not grow if the chemical s are ok Kill the algea with a shock of clor then keep it away with anti-Algues and correct chemical balance. Chrish

Hi Have talked again to the MG rep and this is how I understand the situation, not my opinion. The Aquasensor pre005-m before September 2006 was tested and failed. MG say that they recalled these alarms and changed something to make them conform in September 2006 so most alarms should be ok. If you have one of these alarms they are the ones with the small 9v battery, if it was not recalled then you did not register it, or you missed the recall, they do not manufacture these alarms any more so they can’t be modified now. At this time MG are not doing anything, the 2007 model was not tested so they are saying it’s ok and the new Espio manufactured by MG passes. So looks like MG cant loose , MY opinion. chrish

Ok if your filters are filtering finer then you have no need to use floc it will only gum up the cartridges. You only need to shock the pool when you have a problem not every two weeks or two months!!!! Just keep your reading correct and you will be ok Good luck chrish

Hi You could get rid of this by vac to waste, but you will find that the seams on the liner do always tend to trap some dust as the filter pushes the water around the pool. its removed each time you vac the pool. I would have thought that your cartridges filter a lot finer than 50microns?? but Waterair market their own products. most cartridges filter at 10-15mocrons this is why floc is not used with them, if yours are 50microns then thats not as good as a sand filter so quite a bit will pass through.. Do not keep putting in Chemicals just get your reading correct and vac the dust to waste. hope this helps chrish  

Hi A sand filter only filters to around 30micron so you will get the small particles going back in the pool that’s why Floc is used to gather the small particles together so that the sand filter can remove them. Try putting the filter on waste and then vac the bits from the bottom, you will have to top up with water but you will get rid of the problem. Later when you have the funds change the sand to Zeolite which filters a lot finer, chrish  

Hi Most pool repair kit can be used underwater, put the glue on the patch fold it over then when above the slit you can unfold it and stick it on. they work well Poolstyle is a good make if you can find it, if not PM me chrish

Always better to order in advance Good companies get booked up early for the good months, on a normal year we would be booked for next year by the end of this year. You may also be able to hold the price at this years prices. Planning takes up a minimum of one month from the time it is sent in. after that if the order is in, then the work will be planned to start on the date agreed by you and the company If it rains like this year for two months then the pool installation date will be put back. Sounds horific It does not seem that you can do a lot apart from getting legal advise, a letter from a Huissiers de justice  does seem to speed things up, it must be a Huissier in the same area as the work has been done. In my experience most pool companies  take a small deposit around 10%, then 6 weeks before around 30% ( normally on delivery),  50% on starting, leaving 10% on completion This seems to work for our clients, if not we talk about it and come to a solution which is good for both. if you have a good tester and have looked at the Ph regularly then it should be ok a ph controller is something that automatically looks at the ph and regulates it if its high. If the liner is damaged then it can’t go back to how it was Sorry!! Shame i can’t see some photos chrish

A pool professional for example with 17 years experience and who installs 80 pools a year can’t get decennale insurance, if the pool installations are over 20% of your takings then you are refused decennale insurance. This makes life difficult for the pool companies who are successful and have been around a long time. Pool companies have to give their own 10year guarantee, this  is ok for the ones who have history but for new companies its not so good, clients may not trust that they will be around in a few years time. In the end its up to the client to make a decision, work with a builder who may have no experience and a decennale or a professional pool company with years of experience. Talking to some colleagues it may be possible to get individual decennale insurance per pool but this would be very expensive and the client would be charged extra for it. Just to end, if an insurance expert deems that a pool is  badly installed then the decennale does not pay out, it has to be installed correctly and then have a problem for the insurance to cover it May-be talking to past clients and seeing a few pools which the company have installed could be the way to go Hope this helps You do not need decennale to clean pools, Give me a call if you need any more help Chrish

Hi Do not know the make so its hard to say. only thing i can think of, the unit has a small fuse sometimes its like a car fuse if this goes it can stop the cover at any point. good luck sorry i cant help more chrish

Hi As a pool installer i would say no, it could cost more getting the water correct than to fill from the Tap. if you want to fill from the well You can get the water tested at any Lab in France, or most pool companies will test the water for you. chrish

Be careful with aqua clean on older liners it takes the pattern off if you read the small print it says to test in a small spot before using. The rep gave me one to try and even after 17years selling and installing pools i did it myself and just had to change one of my liners.  Stop laughing Andrew!!!!! Needles to say i am not going to stock it ,we use Acti ligne net which does the job. chrish

We had the gendarmes at the shop asking about a client who has a laser alarm they wanted to know who installed it and if it had a cirtificate of conformity this was a client in dpt 24 who was not on site, the lady in the next house told them he had purchased it from us so who knows!!!!

Strange in our area of Gourdon 46 we have notairs who have contacted us on this subject, they have the questions on the final papers. Also we have estate agents who buy alarms just to make their houses conform. It stands to reason if you are buying you would want to see the cirtificate of conformity, if you are selling why take the chance of the buyer dropping out . At the end of the day its a LAW and its up to the individual to comply or not.
