1. Have a good look with a torch around the gap where the knob fits on you should see the head of a screwdriver slot for air adjustment.
2. Yes I have in 47, these bu**ers (like flour weevils) are in the flour, almonds etc. just waiting for an opportunity to convert, firstly into maggots then moths.
3. I don't know how it could have changed, but normally you can pull of the knobs on the hob and you will find a small hole for a fine screwdriver or allen-key to do the adjustment to regulate the flame. I assume that if you have replaced the bottle you have replaced it with the correct gas.
4. It's probably a type of Mulberry, if it is, then you can prune it without any problem. Mulberry
5. I don't think it is a spoof, just poor practise. Take the documents they require, into your local branch.
6. "I think by rights too all additional drivers are supposed to sign the insurance certificate. That's not the vignette in the window but the document it was originally detached from. This is disputed by some but on the basis that signing it cannot be to your detriment I would just do it anyway." It's written quite clearly on the  insurance card, only if you are driving in the UK or Cyprus would any other driver need to sign it.
7.
6 months, fine (check UK insurance). 6 months plus 1 day, problem and he must reregister. Plus, it is "in any 12 month period", so if the total number of days in France in 12 months exceeds 6 months, etc etc. Car must remain UK-legal (tax MOT, UK insurance, etc) and comply with French rules (beambenders, warning triangle, reflective jacket), for all of its time in France. Assuming that he is British too, he must have an EU licence (Although unless you are very old, he is likely to already have one!!)
8. Go back and tell them the truth, I doubt that you will be charged for it.
9. You do not need a COC for a CT. I had a European COC from Citroen Uk when I did my vehicle.
10. Just make sure that his insurance company will cover him for that length of time. No worries about having to  register the car.
11. I cancelled my rental of the Livebox online on the Orange website, they sent me a prepaid address label for the return of the Livebox and a list of local agents that I could use to return it.

Poor Les, but I thought the female version is spelt Lesley? In the Uk it is, but in France It's Leslie[:)]

Claude

It appears Claude and many others can be either sex, unless you are called Leslie like me. I have so many problems with it, even if I make it clear in correspondence, forms etc. that I am a male, it makes no difference, they still assume I am female. I have even been asked in shops if that really is my name? and at airport car hire desks. Have I borrowed my wife's driving licence? I am considering calling myself Fred.
16. Seems like a few people have, maybe a Java update required. http://www.commentcamarche.net/s/declaration-de-revenus-erreur-signature

18.
There is a web site ( that I can't remember the address of now) where you could enter you town/ village and get fairly detailed information about the average income of the residents there and I think ages etc. Not fool proof but it may give you an indication of the socio economic background of any chosen village from which you may be able to draw some conclusions. I think if I was ever considering a move to la France profonde I would sneek a peek.
Could be this ONE
19. Do you have a subscription to Sky? because without one, the box will not work as a recorder.
20. Maybe your friend, uses a spam blocker like Mailwasher and it's been bounced back.

23.

If you don't have the correct documents, I don't think it will make any difference where you go.
But it seems that not all offices agree about what the "correct" CoC is.   But I was told later that Agen would not have required that.
But you didn't go to Agen and ask them, so it's irrelevant. We have all heard similar stories. I have been to Marmande at least 5 times and have always come away with the carte gris without any problems.
