1. My d'habitation is larger because the tv licence is added to it.
 2. When you leave the airport, you place your parking ticket in the machine opposite the terminal building and it will tell you how much you owe, you then pay using € or card. simples
 3. If you don't have a French Bank account, then you wont be able to get one.
 4. You Could try Here or Here   Both have good prices and cover.   STeve
 5. My 2007 320D SE doesn't have the facility!!!!!
 6.
Not necessarily, see my earlier post or visit their website. http://www.nandp.co.uk/mortgages/proving-your-identity Can I open an account if I don't live in the UK?
Which means the hassle of visiting one of their branches to open an account that also means going back to the UK and I don't see myself doing that..........ever.
 7.

Just a little point of view from me. We were over there from mid Sept - end Nov, and from the end of October we used Nationwide's credit card for all purchases instead of our flex account. Today we have received our statement for the credit card, it is in excess of  800 pounds sterling and all the purchases were in France. If I had used my debit card these would have been taken out of my account with in a couple of days, but by using the credit card Nationwide although they will have paid the trader will have to wait until towards the end of December to get my money. If this is repeated by loads of people they are hopefully losing money on this.  At least its a small win for me. Steve
Forgot to say it will be paid off in full, therefore no charges to pay. Elamese. We are looking at Norwich & Peterborough Building Socy to replace Nationwide, previous post says they are scrapping overseas fee's from 2011
Unfortunately as I'm French resident then unable to entertain Norwich & Peterborough BS.
 8. Like you have been using Credit Card since 1st November for all purchases and not the flex Debit Card. I have had a range of exchange rates between 1.173 and 1.194. Nationwide will not be getting any charges from me at present, although I might have to use Debit card to withdraw cash in the not to distant future.[:(]
 9. I would try the local Marie as a first option, it's amazing what they keep on file.
 10.
The K1300R has been EU type approved by the German TüV with a power rating of 129kW and that's what the TüV has notified to the approval authorities of every other EU member state.  When the prefecture inputs the EU type approval number from the CoC, the vehicles database will complete the carte grise with the details of that specific bike, ie at the EU approved power rating. Once the carte grise is issued, the legality of the bike is not in question.
So was the 2005 Honda ST1300A Pan European but the Prefectures at Limoges and Poitiers would not accept the CoC as it was not on the database. Had to go through Honda France and get the bike restricted to 106HP at great expense. Good luck with your K1300R.
 11.
Elamessa What about the words "or equivalent"?
Suggest you read this website. http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/Vehicule-importe.html and this PDF document. http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/INF01-1_01042010_importation_vehicule.pdf I think it explains everything you need to register.
 12.
Quote from another thread dated 7th October:- "The reason we are trying to contact DRIRE is to get a 'certificate of Conformity ' or equivalent, as Peugeot are asking £100+ -I gather I can get it cheaper via DRIRE. "
DRIRE (DREAL) will not issue you with a certificate of conformity, if you haven't got one from the UK then DRIRE(DREAL) will tell you to go through Peugeot France so there is no way to bypass UK/FRANCE for a CoC.
 13.
I am about to apply to DRIRE for the certificat de conformite for my Peugeot 807 and have downloaded the forms as posted by SD. I notice that this was posted in 2006 and that the cost then was 67,38 Euros, has this changed? It would be very useful to know if anyone out there has changed the headlamps for an 807 or managed to do some other trick to pass the CT.
Current cost is €89.60. As Bob T says why not go via Peugeot UK.
 14. Sorry to hear of your dilema. Did you photocopy any of the paperwork before hand? The reason I ask is that when we used the DREAL (DRIRE) they asked us to photocopy everything twice, keep a copy for ourselves and send one copy and the original to them, that way at least we have a copy in case of situations like yours.
 15.

I will be using my Credit Card and pay it off monthly,  so NW will get no charges out of me.[:P]
If you mean that you will take out cash from the machine, then yes they will. Interest is charged from the time of withdrawal on a credit card.
I meant pay for shopping/fuel etc, I'm not stupid enough to withdraw money using my credit card, although some may think I am.[;-)]

 17.
Thanks for that - the dish size is small. Its an old 60cm Sky dish we brought from Belfast. The HD box is Sagem and the non HD box is Grundig. Would changing to a bigger dish help?
I would change to an 80cm dish which will improve the signal, I've used a portable 80cm dish in most of southern Spain, Italy and France and always get a perfect signal.
 18.
I have a property in the auvergne and want to receive both sky and french channel programmes on the same set. Do I need to buy a French tv or can I take over an English one, bearing in mind the deals that are available in the UK for digital Flat screen sets[8-)]!
An english tv will work in France and I recommend one that is HD ready so that it can receive the HD signal on the changeover.
 19.
In fact far more complicated than I could have possibly imagined. On trying to install Rapport a message came up that it is incompatible BOTH with Avast and with ZoneAlarm. Frankly - given that these are two very common bits of software - I'm speechless that the designers of Rapport remain in business. So I can't install it. Honestly.............! (full explanatory text:    Rapport is not compatible with the combination of Zone Alarm and Avast installed on a single PC. Unfortunately this conflict is not likely to be resolved in the near future. The reason for this is that the relevant vendors (Avast & Zone Alarm) do not approve of the combination of these 2 programs on one system, and so we are not able to have them comply with our compatibility requirements.)
Martin, I have just downloaded Rapport to my Laptop running Windows 7/Firefox and also with Zone Alarm and Avast installed (both freeware) and it is running correctly with no conflicts. I don't know what versions of Zone Alarm and Avast you have but mine are Zone Alarm 9.2.057.000 and Avast 5.0.677 Dont know if that helps. STeve
 20. You shouldn't need the set up disc for the Livebox, have you got the Wireless key that you need to enter when setting up a new wireless connection, it is usually on a label on the back of the livebox box.
 21. Hi Coops, I dont know if you can do this on your Panasonic, but access the Menu, Setup and Manual tune and then search. This will give you a load more channels (although quite a few are doubled up) you can then switch between Freesat and non Freesat mode, in non freesat mode your PVR will not work the same i.e. you wont be able to use the EPG to record programmes. There is no timer recording for start of recording in non-freesat mode. Stored channel's in non-freesat are retained but to access them requires accessing the Settings menu, selecting STB Mode and changing the option from Freesat to non-freesat. STeve
 22. Hi again I have found a 2010 'dossier technique' for the roller team and see that on your model the Truma 4 is only gas. I don't know if it's to late but you could have had a Combi 6 gas+electric and a frost pack both as options which would have assisted in your stay on a site in winter time might be worth asking your dealer. HTH
 23. Hi billy10 I think these are questions you should have asked the supplier maybe before purchasing as he should know the products he is selling. However, I had a Truma 4 on my last van and that worked off both gas and electric, suppose it depends on the spec. Most modern vans are now so good that you can use them all the year around, but as I said you should have asked the supplier. Sorry to sound so negative but I would have researched everything before comminting to the purchase. Although that doesn't help you now you have purchased. I'm off to the Paris camping car exhibition at Le Bourget later this month to do some research for my next van. See below http://www.salon-vehicules-loisirs.com/fr/01-presentation-salon-vdl.htm You will have to cut and paste into your browser.
 24.
Have any of you NW customers actually been informed yet of their intentions to start charging for withdrawals abroad? I haven't.
I received notification last month at my French address about the changes to the Flex account stating that from the 1/11/10 they will be charging for withdrawals.
 25. I was in my Insurance  agents office (Allianz) this morning and noticed a pile of addressed envelopes ready for posting and commented that they seem to be busy. Agent told me that they were letters going out to all the english clients with UK registered cars insured with them that they were not going to be insured again until they registered there vehicle in France. Apparently the Gendarmes have targeted insurance companies with UK registered cars on their books after having an audit done. Seems the net is tightening.
