  1. Grecian, should those awfully nice people in the other EU countries be saying to UK nationals in their country 'you can stay' or should the UK say 'you can stay' and then later the other EU countries say 'we want you out'. Remember it was human beings who voted Leave on the basis of immigration.
  2. Superb. However, just been reading an article about people in Leeds. One said she did not vote because she did not have time! another said she was waiting for a leaflet to come thorough the door - presumably she would have voted Christian Aid if one of their collection bags had arrived.
  3. Perhaps we need a referendum asking should we have a general election
  4. According to this: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-36693200 Bozo and Tonto only had one speech prepared and that was to accept defeat. Political games by two sleazeballs without any regard to the implications. I am at a loss as to what a general election would do? We have an elected Government and it was the Conservatives who offered the referendum.
  5. Negotiations have to be two sided. Do not say that EU Nationals in the UK can stay and hope that the other side reciprocate could be extremely dangerous. When I look at a house or car that I wish to buy I always feedback to the agent / seller in a slightly negative way. Say 'this is exactly what I want in a wonderful condition' puts you on the back foot as it is know that you want it so the seller will hold out for a high price. Negotiations are a game of strategy and within that strategy you do not give your hand away. The number of EU nationals in the UK are very small compared to UK nationals in EU countries so which side needs to be the shrewder negotiatior?
  6. I thought it was designed to bring the excitement of the unknown to our lives.
  7. But Rabbie what do you believe when one politician is saying another one is lying :)
  8. Wonder what the legitimacy is of the EU saying that the agreement reached with Cameron is no longer available? The UK has not triggered Article 50 so surely the agreement should still stand.
  9. Why should he have a plan B if it goes Leave. It is down to the visionaries of the Leave campaign as they know how to negotiate a deal giving full access to the single market without cost and wthout having to let Johnny Foreigner in to the UK. And Rabbie to my mind the Leave victory was won on lies so I would therefore question how the result could be legitimate. Perhaps Cameron should have said 'if the vote is for Remain then everyone will get £1,000 and as Leave has now said 'well, we will not actually be able to stop immigration nor give £350M to the NHS' Cameron could have said 'well we cannot actually give you the £1,000'.
  10. Norman, perhaps DC knew of the problems if Leave won (the Remain side had been pointing these out all along but not resorting to lies - perhaps if they had similar tactics to Leave and lied by saying 'if Remain wins everyone will be given £1,000 the outcome may have been different). If he had carried on and the negotiations left the UK (or what is left of it) in a bad state he would be the one blamed for it and probably accused of failing in the negotiations. Far better to distance himself which may have been his plan all along should the vote go this way.
  11. Bet Merkel is upset - was probably looking forward to being bedded by Bozo. Liked Camerons comment when welcoming the new Labour MP to the Commons - 'keep your mobile on you could be in the Shadow Cabinet by tonight'.
  12. So Bozo is completely aware of the cock up he has caused - he has decided not to stand for leader of the Conservatives!
  13. and one of the main ones saying that is the one who has not declared yet but seems very keen to become PM
  14. They might not now, but they were up the chimneys at 9 - sure when I was a teenager that some started work at 15 if not certainly 16.
  15. If I remember correctly in the UK you need 35 years for a full pension. Now someone could have started work at 15 and retire at 65 = 50 years contributions and get the same amount as the person who ha only paid in for 35 years. A lot in life in unfair.
  16. The biggest horror for me with the younger generation is the very easy ability to get in to debt, be it via credit cards or via the easy loans that are advertised on the TV at such attractive interest rates - for the companies. Very easy to get in to a spiral of debt whilst still needing the latest smartphone so you can apply for the loans.
  17. Anyway, back to the OPs question - I have posted this elsewhere: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36659900 So if the UK wants access to the single market it will have to allow freedom of access and I think the UK does so you will be OK with a new life in France albeit a little poorer if your money is coming from the UK. As for the outcome of the referendum which featured heavily on stopping immigration that is now shown to be false and surely it means that the outcome is null and void. What an absolute shambles. So the outcome could be we continue to pay in gross and get nothing back and have no say in how the money is spent.
  18. Just to side track with some humour and no disrespect to anyone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe1a1wHxTyo
  19. For all those who voted to stop immigration bad news:  http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36659900 Perhaps another referendum based on fact is needed. My analogy is you do not resign from a golf club because you do not like the fees and rules and then expect to play for free and ignore the rules.
  20. The 'retired voted for Brexit' is only based on polls not actual votes cast and polls only ask a small section of the population. The driving forces behind Leave are in their early 50s so not quite pensioners. As for means tested benefits I always remember two people who were about to retire when I started work. They both did the same jobs and one complained to me: 'When we retire I will get nothing additional because I have saved all my life but he (the other person) will get all sorts of help because he has pi55ed his money up against the wall all his life'. And haven't pensioners been targetted recently? I will get my pension next year when I am 65 but the following year it goes up to 66. My wife will not get hers at 60 but it was changed to 65 and again to 66. Perhaps they should grade how votes of the age groups count - for instance, 18 - 30 one vote, 31 - 40 0.75, 41 to 60 0.50 and over 60 0.25 :)
  21. For those wanting to remove the EU nationals from the UK could find big problems with the NHS as the NHS has drawn in nationals from many EU countries and, no, not as cleaners and kitchen staff, but as nurses and doctors.
  22. There you go Chancer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dog_in_the_Manger
  23. Either the media are not interviewing Bozo, IDS and Gove as they won and should have plenty to say about the way ahead and the future or they have gone missing. If the latter should it not be reported so that they can be found to explain how utopia is to be achieved. Should Idun also be reported as she seems very quiet of late.
  24. WB in your last paragraph, sadly,I think you can leave out the 'Van' based on people I have spoken to in the UK who voted Leave.
