  1. they are 9 euros for 6 by me in dept 79
  2. I believe you also have to show your passport or other ID when asking for the money.
  3. Can someone tell me please. If you have a UK Ltd company but are only working over here, and have no siret number is that legal or not. I know someone who has been doing it for years. He says there is a loophole in the law that allows it. His accountant seems to agree.
  4. I have spent several hundreds on items from Ikea France online. It was a very quick efficient service;
  5. Tony, what a sad and horrid thing to state in public, whatever the reasons.
  6. You find masses of them in compost heaps. I throw them to my hens as a tasty snack
  7. I am in total shock. I have just gone into the garden and there was a swallow flying around. Last year it was 20th March.
  8. I have seen a few at night in the Chef Boutonne area, Deaux Sevres 79
  9. I just bought 8+ tins from NOZ St John Angely Road Niort branch. Also carte Noir for cafeterie at 1.50. Last month Heinz Organic beans 50c all in date. I love Noz you never know whats going to be there.

    Potatoes,

    Can someone give me the name of a late potatoe that is a good all rounder, but especially for chips please; French varieties i do not know
  11. Judie, I was not unable to say I didn't like how much they charged. I told them that I think it is morally wrong to charge that much. I accept that they will charge someone that price for their 'time'.  That is why I have also put my house on the market with a private sale advert at a price I consider more realistic for my house, that will not include agency fees. They are as far as I am concerned two different sort of customers. If they see the sign or go through agency thats fine. If by chance they see my advert fine. I come from a disappearing species on this earth. I am someone who refuses to fleece anyone over anything. I may be poor but I am happy with my conscience.
  12. Sorry didn't mean to offend.  Agents are friends. If charge is in normal guidelines thats ok. Just seems lots of money, but they have to live too!
  13. It is only a little cheap house. I renovated it. I am making a loss. I feel very bad that the agent has it on his books for 18.250 euros more than I have. 8.250 is his fee. I call that disgusting.
  14. I have had my house on the market for a month with an agency, as yet they have not put it on the internet. Their mandat de vente says, sans exclusive. I also have an advert on a private sellers page on the internet. it has been on a week. Someone has already come across from the UK this weekend, and I believe, is about to make me an offer. If he does and I accept, can the agency be "funny" about it.  Also what do I do next, neither of us knows. Merci
  15. I enquired about selling mine to a third part yesterday, but no one will do it; It is on track I keep getting green letters saying so. It say I should get a bonus of between 7.000 and 11.000. My son is quite insistent that I don't cash it in. He thinks I will get a bonus. I don't. Parsnips,I can't do anything illegal like not stating I have cashed it in. I am a priest, and don't do such things. If I cash it in though I would pay everything off here and move straight back to UK anyway. If I sell my house now I would be hrd pressed to pay removals, bills off ect without it and may have to stay here until it runs its course in Nov. I would be narky at myself if I lost thousands though. I don't think I will.
  16. I am selling my home in France, and may have a buyer. This is a bit of a shock as I thought noone was buying. I am now in a bit of a dilema. I am going back to the uk. I was waiting until november (If I had sold my house) because I have a endownment policy that finishes then. It is a with bonus one. I have been wandering if to cash it in now.If I am moving now I could do with the money now, to put towards buying in UK, moving,ect. Last August a surrender value was £47.656, today when I asked it was £43.000. I know I will lose my bonus If I surrender now, but I am worried that it will be going down anyway, and bonus may not be much either. Please, what is best to do. I am a pensioner so suffering a little anyway.
  17. I watched Jamies programme last night. I did not realise that I am probably eating pork from annimals kept in those awful cage things. I am limited to where I can shop. I buy most of my meat from Intermarché. How can I tell what I am buying? I don't think I have seen free range meat in there. I was suffering watching those pigs, and would like to do my bit. I had been a vegetarian for 54 years, since coming to France I have eaten some meat. I cannot, though, accept meat from those conditions.  What words do I look for, for free range? Is this widespread in France. I live in 79
  18. Yes Bird had a good funeral. Including some of Rutters requiem music.
  19. Just finished writing this, and it fell over dead; RIP beautiful thrush;
  20. I came downstairs this am to find feathers everywhere, the cats had a picnic. Fortunatley it hadn't managed to kill the beautiful thrush. I found it later sitting in a bowl in the kitchen. When i thought it looked a little more relaxed I took it outside and chucked it in the air for it to fly away, alas, it just dropped with a thump. At the moment its looking very unhappy in a cage,for protection from cats. I can't see any damage to its flight wings though is very bald in the wing area. It doesn't want to move though. It took some water from me, and I will go and get some "fishing maggots" to try and feed it;It is such a beautiful bird, I want to do what I can for it. Any ideas please?
  21. I have just put my house on the market for  80.000. my french neighbours think this is not enough. It was only renoveted three years ago. They have told me I should take everything from it. eg Fires. I brought three wood burners when I moved in, the large 14 kilowatt Godin was over a 1000 euro's. I hadn't dreamt of taking then with me; All kitchen cupboards are old freestanding antique cupboards which came from UK. so those will go with me. Just rather nice sink unit left. But fires I hadn't considered. What do others think. I haven't signed the contract from the immobliers, should I state on there whats going and what isn't?
  22. I love my "and so to bed" blanket. I can keep it on all night. It gets put in the washing machine and just is so snug and warm. I do know people who are using really ancient ones though. My french neighbour had never heard of electric blankets, and was amazed. "you plug it into the wall and lie on electric wires, just like a toaster!, you English are mad" Yes, and proud to be;
  23. Thank you Twinkle. I am not unhappy here, but the opportunity has come up for me to work part time in a parish, and buy a very cheap house. Nothing like the size of this one, but near two of my sons and families. That is what I miss, and it means I can be useful again. At 60 I am too young to go for days without seeing anyone. Thank you all for your help. I just want to go now, sods law I won't sell.
