  2. http://www.connexionfrance.com/Tougher-road-safety-rules-Claude-Gueant-13340-view-article.html We have a Garmin satnav with speed camera notification as basic.  Does anyone know how to disable it? Suey
  3. I went to see my breast surgeon on Tuesday to discuss my future op and he assured me that they had not used these implants.  I think they were used more for cosmetic surgery rather than medical surgery. Suey
  4. Well I too am sorry Allanb but I honestly found this very useful when I was in hospital, earlier this year.  It really gets my goat when people criticise others who are trying to offer assistance.  Negativity does not help matters.  Perhaps if you made some non negative suggestions it would be more useful.  There are certain things that are not even in a "good" dictionary. Suey
  5. We've just finished paying an ISA in the UK and now want to continue paying into some sort of savings in France.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  It would be in the region of 50 euros a month.  any ideas? Suey
  6. Actually Sweet 17, the breast man said I will have the breasts of a 20 year old!! Problem is I can see that in thirty years when I am in my eighties, I'll be all wrinkly with these two perky breasts that knock my false teeth out when I run!!! [:P] Sue x
  7. Hi Sweet 17, Thank you for the enquiry. Firstly just a note to say I am so pleased Coops is okay. We do miss her when she keeps her head below the parapet, don't we? I am fine thanks. Back to keep fit three times a week. I go to see my breast surgeon in early January to confirm that I want a prophylactic mastectomy in April with immediate reconstruction. This drops my chances of breast cancer from 87% to 2%, so a no brainer really. The surgeon has been highly recommended to me by previous patients who have the same BRCA mutant gene and also by my gynaecologist.  He pointed out the nasty side of the op (as he must, so I don't sue him and stated that it is in effect a mutilation of a perfectly good pair of breasts) but with a threat so high I want to get rid of them before this bloody disease gets me (my cousin having died at the age of 46 from BC. I will keep you posted. Joyeux Noel et bonnes fetes de fin d'annee. Sue xx
  8. How are you Deb?  Hope all going well. Suey
  9. Once again Sunday Driver you have come to the rescue. It is nice to be able to assist our French friends instead of vice versa. Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year. Suey
  10. We have French friends who went to the UK to purchase a car. Having bought it, they returned to France and posted off to DVLA for the V5. They have been sent a V561 Certificate of Permanent Export. Our friend has phoned the prefecture at Arras and has been told that it is obligatory to have the V5 and that no other form will be permitted. Where does she go from here. Thanks in anticipation. Suey
  11. One of the ladies in our village said the same thing to me. Suey

  17. Due to my hubby having a little accident with our car, we are using a Europcar hire car at the moment (on our car insurance) while our car is being repaired. Yesterday we had a puncture on the hire car and the tyre was too damaged to repair, so Europcar said we can either have the (low profile) tyre replaced or pay Europcar 200 euros and they would sort it out direct with the garage. Needless to say we ordered the tyre from the garage and only paid 110 euros plus fitting. When my husband went to change the tyre immediately after the puncture we found that the emergency spare was also flat. We therefore had to walk home to get a foot pump (2 km). Not too efficient on the part of Europcar and lucky that it did not happen miles from home!! Has anyone else had the same sort of experience with hire cars. Make sure you check the spare before venturing out. Suey
  18. Does anyone have experience of this. I am going to see a surgeon next week at the Centre Oscar Lambret in Lille, to discuss having a preventative double mastectomy with reconstruction and just wondered if anyone had any experience of reconstructions in France. Have read up on all that is offered in the UK but of course that doesn't help me. Thanks in anticipation. Suey
