well lat 3 days dry cold at 900a.m but sun warming up nicely throughout the day -every hour i stip off another layer of clothing and yesterday it was -5 at 8.oo.a.m.!!but soon got up in 16 region. so now moving plants for herladyship -apparently a garden is never finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!J**** C*****!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well the lads have won again-amazing what a change of manager does-- now sunderland another story- worked 2 years there and given a ticket for their club's 100th. anniversay. no one knew i was a newcastle  man or i would have been lynched.-no just a joke although the police did walk around in pairs!!!!!!!!!!! had my car nearly stolen by the local gangs but foiled them by taking out my distributer lead.!!!!!!!!!!! bugger me they came bakk later i suppose with a lead but i chased them away. at the time cars were taken whatever the age.!!!!!!!!!! i think thieves should have their hands chopped off like saudi arabia -that would stop them driving away!!!!!!!!!!!![:D][ip]

went to garage and they connected the car to a computer and rectified fault-no charge. i am still puzzled as before computerisation i could do some work myself.is this the price we pay for modern cars?

I also bought stihl-and would add use goggles =ear defenders and steel toed boots as well as hardhat and overalls/gloves. there are more accidents here than most places . one slip and you wont be cutting any more trees or logs. if unsure dont do it get advice rope any pieces of branches so they do less damage when falling-it may take a little more time but worthwhile.   I have stilhl 260--my second in 3 years because after using the first time after a winter break i picked up the can of petrol without oil additive and engine knackered.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! expensive error but wont do that again. also bought safety overalls and fs55 strimmer bought 180c electic to cut logs to length but brico table not very satisfactory-needed to turn log around as cut stopped due to design of bench. necessary to sharpen chain frequently for efficient work- bit of a pain when you have a lot to cut. uk also sent me copies free of charge of all handbooks.

I was invited to join my local troiseme age and was surprised with their friendly attitudes,a good meal,wine if you wished and an afternoon of dancing plus one or two got up and rendered a song or a joke. despite having only a small amount of french yocabulary i enjoyed the companionship and have since been to many outings -all of which were not unruly .!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unlike many of my english compatriots they welcome all comers and are a generous and kind set of people. of course this can vary from area to area as i am sure someone will jump to the defence of my compatriots .!!!!!!!!!! who are only too eager to accept your hospitality and then disappear. I have had neuf for tel. and computer services without any problem since joining about 20 months ago,although my french is not great i managed to set up modem etc. and had a free video player on promotion which i gave to my daughter-oh. they did charge me 1 euro.

 I have a tv connected to a video and dvd using satelite for bbc etc. No problems for 4 years until last week when I could not video programmes nor watch dvd's.!!!!!!!!! I thought I had touched a change channel button accidentally which is close to the record video button. So I started again and let the tv automatically retune the channels,then connected the leads to the other equipment. I regained my video screen and video  and rcording was again possible.  However I still cannot see any picture when I insert dvd 's but have sound.!!! Any experts out there?as tv is normally rubbish and I have some xmas dvd's to watch. tv is toshiba bought in uk 7 years ago. video is  toshiba not as old. dvd is a sony 5years old and an expensive one. satelite receiver is panasonic.         .
