  I don't think there are any French things that I do apart from the kissing thing with freinds, but here's a few French things that I would not dream of doing in any country: 1. use somebody elses garden as a toilet 2. Park in somebody elses drive or garden without asking first 3. walking across somebody elses land without asking first 4. walking into somebody elses house to seek shelter from a shower of rain without knocking on the door first. 5. parking your car as badly as possible taking up at least two parking spaces or not even bothering to use a parking space at all. 6. Overtaking another vehicle and forcing any oncoming vehicle off the road. 7. going on a bike ride with some friends and riding six abreast going up hill and when coming downhill riding on the oposite side of the road and cutting every corner. I guess I could go on and on

I think your mate Buster Bloodvessel (you remember lip up fatty, etc etc) is also running a b and b but in Blackpool or is it Morecambe, somewhere grim and somewhere up north. regards and good luck

  Hi Miki, Its always the brits isn't it. " So how would you have dealt with it " Using a hoover outside their room in the coridor and occasionaly letting the head bang against the door. Usualy drops the hint. when they come out say sorry if you disturbed them but you have to get the work done quickly as you need to go out in the next ten mins. regards. JP

Hi, Try looking on the ground also, we recently had a large nest of wasps set up home in a mole hole in the lawn. Looked at loads of the chemical killer sprays to find that they weren't supposed to be used on grass so had to find an alternative solution, in the end I went out at 6 am with a bucket of quick drying cement and tipped it down the hole before they had chance to sound the alarm. Hi Peter, When I first set up  wanadoo adsl on my computer (win xp) I did a manual install to bypass all the wanadoo software, I downloaded the driver from the sagem site and installed the patch. I have never had any problems with it. hope this helps. regards. JP1

Hi Lizs, You should be ok at the moment and not need chains. The main roads are always kept clear by snow ploughs, so access to the town is not usualy a problem. If you are driving up to Cambasque or Pont d'Espagne then occasionally you need them after particularly heavy falls, or during lunch time when the ploughs don't operate. This year there isn't much snow yet although this morning has seen a skittering at 1000m and more is forcast for today and tomorrow at and above 1700m. check out the website www.cauterets.com  click on "La Neige" then bulletin meteo for the latest updates on conditions with a webcam of the pistes. enjoy your ski-ing regards. Thanks for the reply Baz, Not sure thats the problem as I sometimes have a dial tone but only for a few minutes, never long enough to make a phone call though. any more suggestions ? regards. JP

Hope someone can help, I have an adsl modem connected to my telephone line, normally no problems with either, however, yesterday we lost our dial tone, cannot dial out and cannot receive phone calls, but I can dial in and connect to the internet using the adsl modem, sometimes. Occasionally the dial tone returns but only for a few seconds. I've tried changing the in line filter and also checked the line wires in the connection box. but I still can't make or receive calls, strange but when I lift the receiver on our phone fax I occasionally hear a french radio station announcer and music any body any ideas as what the problem may be regards JP
