  1. Help I have to attend a tribunal brought against us for non payment of a bill from new house build that we have never had a devi for. Architect managed the project. 2. We are selling up and returning to the UK (family probs. ) We built a new house, completed last Feb. We used a local architect who managed the whole project for us, usinf local artisans. The house is fabulous and now about to sign our sale compromis. The buyers have an English soliciter who is asking that as we did not take out an insurance that we sign to say that in the event of a problem we will be liable (to contact artisans, who have their "assurance decenneles" to put anything right) Can this be workable? Surely our architect is there for that purpose, he assured us that he is responsible for the property for 10 years. Would appreciate any comments or advice Liz
  3. We moved to Duras - Lot et Garonne last Feb. Cost £2K via ET Brokers, try their web site. They find quotes for you for a £0 fee only payable when you decide which you're having. We had the cheapest, 2 great blokes. Nothing fancy but all went well. liz
  4. Hello All just returned from a fantastic week in Cauterets. Thanks Paul for all your advice. Chains aren't necessary for Cauterets but obviously the higher roads would need them durng snow falls. We used the shuttle bus to pont d'espargne, very beautiful for ski de fond, and walking. Our youngsters used the cable car for their snow boarding. Superb town with lots of charm. There had been lots of snow, we benefitted from 6 sunny days. Liz
  5. Just to let you know the architect has now received all the guarantees and we are proceeding well with the sale panic over Liz
  6. We are in the process of selling a new house. A french architect managed the project using local insured artisans. He (architect) has since had arguments with the macon and now the macon will not give him a copy of the assurance decennales which we need for the sale. Any advice - can we apply to chamber of commerces or a register of these insurances? Help Liz
