  1. Whoever is concerned with the loss of Feb 4ths emails...............what's happening. Information would be good or have you taken a leaf out of M'O Leary's book Wilko
  2. Come on Retread where are you ?? Let's get it on. Wilko Ps I hope you're not having a sense of humour failure. ?????
  3. Hi .............I think that Gatsines gave you excellent advice. If you think about it your margins on B&B are enormous, meals not even close. See what works for you and don't worry too much about French regulations. You will have enough problems when you become cotisised (is that a word ?) I wish you well in your endeavour, but remember filling beds is a whole lot more profitable than cooking. TVA is 19.6% on food and 5.5% on beds...... Bonne chance Wilko
  4. I would be really grateful if you could expand on this. Thanks I suspect Chancer was talking about the VAT certificate obtainable from the Hotel des Impots which you would receive on presentation of the log book and sales receipt, and payment of any tax due of course if the car were under 6 months old or had less than 6000km on it.
  5. Retread wrote, but since disappeared Ok so we've decided that you are having problems with your electric faux Cuisiniere. We’ve decided ??? Thats the trouble with design over function. You are so right just think of all those sous chefs loading wood into those functional cuisinieres in Michelin star restos. You failed to comment on the link I posted re your favoured revendeur, O.k it's in French, which you seem to be au fait but The point made was that A) Not only was their SAV non existant but that also B) they badge engineered and then failed to supply parts after the origional manufacturer went out of business. Not a company I would chose to recommend. Could you supply the link ? As far as I am aware I haven't recommended anyone Wilko
  6. Hi Thanks Catalpa & Steve I don't recognise the Brand names but have emailed both so will have to wait and see, but thanks again for your help Rgds Wilko
  7. Thanks a lot Payrac Man. I mailed them and received a quite bizarre and unfriendly response, mais c'est la vie. N/ender.......no I never saw Finney play, did see Matthews though. George Best was close to God, season ticket holder for 3 years at O/Trafford. Had a glass with Bestie one night in Time & Place, trendy night club.......it was champers and girls till the early hours and it was friday night. He played a blinder the following day, he was aound 19/20 at the time. What a player !
  8. N/ender No it's not but thanks for that. By the way are you a Preston supporter ? Rgds W
  9. Hi Does anyone know of a waterproof sealant for my limestone in the shower. I was given the name of a German product which is expensive but does the job. I have spent an hour on the i/net but can't find the manufacturer. Any suggestions gratefully received. Unfortunately I am unable to get in touch with the guy that gave me the German company, though if i saw the name I would remember. Rgds Wilko
  10. King Richard you are a star, it works, am impressed, thanks a lot. Regards Wilko
  11. Hi Wondered if anyone can help. I installed Google Chrome a few weeks ago and it was perfect. As of last evening the whole browser window became opaque, eg the back button is still there and works but i can only find it if I hover the mouse over the area in the browser. I uninstalled Chrome this am and and reinstalled but same problem. Anyone help me with this problem svp. Regards Wilko
  12. Betoulle Something of importance to know is that as from this year, newly registered chambres d'hotes owners who wish to offer table d'hotes must attend a hygiene & food safety course - approximate cost 800-900euros.....you may find this cost prohibitive. I had a long discussion late last year with a newly registered French run B&B in Provence - she is charging top whack for her beautiful rooms & had a successful 1st year, but despite that she had worked out it would take her almost 10 yrs to re-coup the cost of the course.. In which case not much point in cooking then.
  13. Lisleoise Thanks for that, just perfect. Wilko

  15. Hi Bernie Just a couple of thoughts: what's the property worth with vacant possession ? Do you have any idea if the Irish lady's family is long lived ? If you don't want to ask with her full name and date and place of birth you could find out. Good luck from a fellow Mancunian Wilko

Hi Nick Thanks for that. We are a B&B and it seems to me that it would be more cost effective if I had HC. We have both Sarl and Sci and have been trading for the past 5 years.........so HC to an existing supply. The present bills come to the Sci............what is the best way to proceed ? Thanks for your help. Regards W

  22. Hi Bobk Could you explain: (I understand the rules are that the car must be 6 months only AND have covered 4000 miles or 6000 kms.). Why do you think that she said the receipt should show No VAT ? Lastly might I ask what sort of car attracts a charge of 1047 euros. Rgds Wilko

  24.  To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last. Date: 05-27-09, 1:43 A M EST.    I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on my girlfriend, threatening our lives and me.  You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings.  I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.      First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment when I drew my pistol after you took my Jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.  My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 A CP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening.    Obviously you agree that it is a very Intimidating weapon when pointed at your head wasn't it?                    I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from bare footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That   prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].      After I called your mother, or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I Went and filled up my gas tank as well as four other people's in the gas station on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!  I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go’s, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]  I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.      Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone.  Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what's going on with that?    Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target. The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).  In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider the career path you've chosen to pursue in life.      Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.  Have a good day!       Wilko
  25. Hi Tony F. D. "One is owned by an Irish couple, one by Australians, three by Brits and 3 by French.  From what we can tell, several are not registered for any form of tax in France, not are they registered in any way as businesses - unfortunately, all the outre-mere." What happened to these jolly folk ?? Rgds Wilko
