1. As an addition to my previous post, we use bleach in moderation, in the kitchen bathrooms and showers, and use any type of washing powder, but we are careful to use fosse friendly cleaners etc for the toilet/fosse system
2.
If you have a modern system as the name (toutes eaux) suggests everything goes into the fosse. If you have an older (non conforming )system, which will eventually have to be replaced then the grey water may still  go direct to the outside world.
I have a system that is not a fosse toutes eaux that has just had a certificate of conformity from the water company, it has a fosse for toilet waste which has not needed to be emptied in the 7 years we have owned the property, (but to meet the new requirements it will have to be emptied every 4 years), and a bac a graisse for the kitchen bath/shower water that ends up in a evaporation field along with the water from the fosse it's not the best system in the world but it gets the thumbs up from the water company and will not have to be changed in the foreseeable future..

9. If you find the dish is rigid and has not moved when you check it, you may need a new LNB
10. The  "quitus fiscal" is just a form you get from the Hotel Des Impots to say you don't owe any import tax, vat etc it's just a formality for most vehicles and it's free,  look through the previous posts for the documentation you need. The " une photocopie du certificat de conformité étranger"  I am not sure what you mean, you do need to obtain a certificate of european conformity to re-register a foreign vehicle in France, or go to the DRIRE  to get the document you need.

15. You have posted in the wrong place, no replies allowed here, maybe the mods can move it. You can try this link: http://www.askoxford.com/languages/fr/french_letters/specimen/?view=uk
16. I use 0860888080 in dept. 47, it may be a different number in other regions.
17. The stone veneers are available here in our part of SW France, in the major Builders merchants like Point P. and they have small houses built built in the yard as an example, using lots of  the different finishes available, and they do look good.
18. Before you cough up any cash have a look at this link: http://www.askoxford.com/languages/fr/french_letters/?view=uk
19. " I do not pay any form of tax, however can I still claim a tax credit for works completed this year after this financial year is over?" AFAIK you can only claim a rebate against any French Income tax that you may pay and not an outright cash payment to you, but if it's supplied and fitted by a registered artisan, you may be able to offset the cost of it against CGT if you sell your maison secondaire in the future.
20. I was told a long time ago, that if you had the full blown pylon (4 legged huge thing) then they have to pay you a rental fee but if it's just a single post cable carrier then no.
21.
A largish unbraked trailer (Trelgo) cost me 699€.  Watch the weight limit, upto 750kg gross weight you can tow without restrictions, over that weight and it needs its own carte grise and on a French licence I beleive you must have the appropriate category.
I think you will have to check your info on that one. I posted this some time ago on the Forum. A quote from the Code de la Route. Jusqu'à 500 kg de PTAC, aucun document spécial n'est requis. Au-dessus de 500 kg de PTAC, la remorque doit avoir sa propre carte grise. Your French insurance normally covers you to tow up 750 kg without notifying them, if you have a UK licence and want to tow anything heavier than that, let them know and they will alter your insurance accordingly, a UK licence is valid for all the groups stated on that licence. For a French Licence and weights of vehicles that are permisable, look at the following site. http://www.code-route.com/remorque.htm
22. You can see some info here. http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/particuliers/N367.xhtml?&n=Transports&l=N18&n=Automobiles%20et%20deux-roues&l=N529&n=Papiers%20du%20v%C3%A9hicule&l=N533
23. Does anyone have any experience of what CPAM will accept as proof of cohabitation for a person being added to a carte vitale supported by an E 106?   I would think that all he had to do was fill out the "Cerfa Form" 10548*01 available on-line. But could she not qualify for a Carte Vitale in her own right under CMU and residency qualification?
