    Repeat prescriptions

I agree that "one can be too many",which is why I said too many in my posting.

It is nice to hear that someone has no desire to be fraudulent as too many people on these fora appear to be looking for ways around laws, regulations and contracts.
  6. A slight inaccuracy on my part;LE Loir flows first into the Sarthe which joins with the Mayenne to become the Maine and it is this river that flows into LA Loire.
  7. It's LA Loire and LE Loir which are two different rivers tho' the masculine does flow into the feminine.
  8. The number of letters I've received from France-which must run into hundreds since I bought in 1988-have never gone astray-not one.
  9. Can be an advantage:I got to the Bank to open an account about 15 minutes before they were due to close for lunch.Result-everything sorted in that time.
  10. My wife was astonished that when they closed her queue before she got to the front, people in the next queue invited her in,almost at the front!!
  11. No,he's done it properly;go and ask the people in the offices!Don't just put a letter on these fora and get loads of mainly conflicting advice.
  12. I know someone living in a town in England who had three loos in his house and rightly expected that they were all connected to the main drains. It was only when he began to extend his house that he found that the original loo in the house(the first one)was still connected to a septic tank.
  13. Remember the man a few weeks ago whose car was almost towed away!!
  14. Which is why I recommended going to a battery with high CCA(I don't know the French for it)but most high CCA batteries(normally used for diesels)will have the letters CCA and a figure shown on them somewhere.Even quite a small battery will start you for most of the year provided it's in a good state of charge and there are no problems with the cold start equipment on your engine.
  15. They and a number of other cars used two squarish 6v. batteries rather than one long battery besause of space reasons. The tractor probably used them for the same reasons as a single battery of that capacity would be huge and hard to fit under a tractor bonnet. Most modern cars use batteries of 44-55 A/Hrs.In fact some Renaults and Citroens were down in the 20-30 levels-that's m/cycle type level.and is done maimly to save weight.Modern batteries tend to have thin plastic cases and are much smaller and lighter than the old rubber cases and purer chemicals in the manufacture have improved efficiencies.
  16. You can probably get away with a lot less amp/hours than that provided you are not going to do repeated cold starts in the depth of winter.Look for a high CCA(cold cranking amps),probably 500+.
  17. Having injured myself walking in the country, not mountains,I can confirm that no charge was made by the Sapeur/pompiers who took me to hospital. The worst bit was waiting while my wife had to find a phone to call them.
  18. Aim your h/lights at a wall or garage door and play!
  19. If you're sleeping in an aire, use one with a petrol station-then,there are always people about.
  20. The MAIRE works at the MAIRIE!!!
  21. I regularly receive them in the UK but the post office in the UK does not appear to know what to do with them;you need to remove the form, fill it in and return it to the postman or sorting office(no stamp needed) and it also depends on the sender filling in his details correctly.
  22. A number of posters are recommended to contact MARIE;she must be getting fed-up with all the queries by now.
  23. Ours has a safety valve and overflow plumbed in but I have never seen any water come out of it;I presume that  when the water expands as it heats it displaces water back up the supply.
  24. Most motorway stations are attended but on some the outside kiosk is closed and you pay the cashier in the shop.
  25. You don't have to stand out in the rain!
