1. Brilliant news - so very glad that they are well on the route to recovery ...  Thank you for letting everybody know Mr Wiggy.
2. We have also moved our peonies ... in fact the same ones as you have which I think are called 'Bowl of Beauty' and smell heavenly ... they came from the UK with us, were planted in our first French home and were then moved again to our second - spending some time in pots between times!  We have had loads of flowers this year and they look extremely healthy.  My OH is the gardener & he always moves them in November, obviously taking great care as Chris said.
3.
To echo everyone else, hope Mr and Mrs SD have a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with all those involved and their families.   Can it be arranged for flowers or a card to be sent from us all on here to let them know we are thinking of them ?    A lovely idea. I hope someone can organise that on behalf of the forum members.
I agree, what a wonderful idea, hopefully it can be arranged. How are Dave & Brenda - is there any news?  I thought I saw some new postings today, they seem to have vanished now - but my PC has been playing up recently.
4. We also send our very, very best wishes to Mr & Mrs SD - our thoughts are with them and trust that they have a full and speedy recovery.
5. Hi ams Glad you got it sorted out ... a thought tho if you make a lot of calls to the UK... we pay the 7 euros per month for unlimited calls (fixed line) to various countries including the UK (not sure of them all as we were only interested in the UK), and have found that our phone bill has halved.  We do have to make a lot of calls (elderly relatives), but have saved a lot each month by taking on this option. Just a thought perhaps until you can change provider?
6. I use quite a lot of Tumeric (and other spices) and have found this site to be very good - http://www.epices-et-piment.com If you use spices frequently (for curries perhaps!) it works out quite a lot cheaper than buying the small glass jars from the supermarket.
7. I also puzzled over my last bill - but finally managed to work out that I was being charged exactly the same total amount TTC per month, but that the amount had been split prior to applying TVA so that half of it attracted TVA at 19.6% and the other half at 5.5%.  I have absolutely no idea why! Could the 33 euros be the approx amount they said you would be paying HT?  Does your initial contract contain any figures? Re the Option 30 minutes mobile for 7 euros ... this should also include 'international illimite' for that price. Hope this may help
8. I know the answer to this one too - like Sweet 17 I had invaluable help from this forum [:)] I rung the company who installed the insert and was told that I could only claim back for the actual insert ... none of the 'associated bits' ... and that I should just put the full amount (TTC) in box WF and the impot would do the rest ... hope that helps too.
9. Could it be this tree - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robinia_pseudoacacia - but with beautiful deep rose pink flowers?  If so our local pepiniere refers to them as Acacia Casque Rouge ... I know the name / colour is not quite right, but perhaps another possibility as they are in flower now?

7WF ...

Many thanks for that SD & Ron.  I think I'll visit the shop and ask them to mark the facture as you suggested SD, less likely to make any mistakes that way ... I hope! Regards
11. I'm sorry, but I'm still a little confused about this line and I can't find anything about it in the FAQS - can anybody help me please? I know that I can claim back 50% of the cost of our new insert  ... but what about all the other bits & pieces that are necessary to make it work?  Such as the conduit & isolation? Thanks very much
12. Thanks very much indeed everybody ... Phil & Pat - the form does look very similar to last year's ... box 7WF it is! SD & Chas - we have always got our 2047 by post and pre-printed too ... but normally not this much after the 2042!  I'll wait a bit longer and if one doesn't arrive I'll download the form. Dr O - it is! Again, thank you for your help - very much appreciated.
13. Very sorry, but I'm a bit stuck    ... can anybody help please?  We had an insert fitted last year (by a registered artisan) and I understand that we can claim back 50% of the cost of the appliance, not the fitting ... is that correct?  If so, have I read the instructions on completing form 2042 correctly in that the amount claimed goes in box 7WF?  I will of course attach a copy of the facture to our return. We also haven't received form 2047 yet, although 2042 arrived last week ... has anybody received theirs yet or are you downloading? This forum is brilliant, so much information - many thanks everybody Best regards
14. Sorry, my mistake, I meant to write 'at least the 5 year ruling has almost been confirmed at last'.  I should have checked before I posted [:$]
15. Thanks SD ... you have kindly confirmed what we wondered - on the positive side, at the least the 5 year ruling has been confirmed at last! Many thanks
16. This is so frustrating for everybody ... we applied for our new titre de sejour via the Mairie a while ago - before these health issues arose.  We enclosed a letter saying that we had lived here some five and a half years and would be grateful if they could issue us with a permanent / replacement titre.  The Prefecture refused, quoting the usual Directive, i.e. that EU citizens don't need one any more.  Since hearing about CMU and the proposed changes (we don't have an E121, and won't be getting one for 8 years), we've rung the Prefecture quoting Ms Gaillard on a couple of occasions ... each time we've been told that we don't need a new titre or declaration.  We've also rung CPAM, but again they seem to know nothing about anything, except the fact that CMU cover will cease in March!  We received the dreaded letter literally just after we sent them copies of all our avis d'impots ... now we have just received another attestation, which appears to say that we have cover for a year ... but we're not holding our breath.  Has anybody had any luck with obtaining a new titre de sejour so far??
17. Thanks very much Frogslegs - I've emailed you
18. Ooops, sorry ... I forgot [:$]  We live near to Sarlat (24), but I'm willing to go further afield if necessary ... thanks
19. Hi, hope somebody can help please ... I've managed to slip a couple of discs and was wondering whether anybody knows of or can recommend a good Chiropractor or Osteopath?  I'm having kines at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be helping that much ...  I had a very good chiropractor in the UK, but never needed one here ... until now! [:(] Many thanks
20. Hi Our two have had nothing more than you are planning for your three - obviously boosters every year tho.  We use Frontline - easily available, pharmacie, vets and some supermarkets.  We also have found a brilliant vet - in Le Buisson - he's Dutch but speaks superb English. Whereabouts are you moving to ... 30 mins from Bergerac in which direction?
21. Brilliant, that's just what I needed to know - thanks so very much SD - you really are a mine of extremely useful information [:D]
22. Thanks very much indeed SD, so it would appear that if you are affiliated with CPAM and submit a French tax return you have to pay CMU base - but what about URSSAF - is that totally separate please?
23. After reading the previous thread about CMU de base I also have a question please ... does anybody know if you should / have to contribute to either / both of the above if you are not working, but not of retirement age, and submit a French tax return?? Very many thanks
24. Hi Glad I could help ... sent you an email with his details. Good luck with your move - it's a lovely area [:D]
25. Hi Tony Yes, they really are lovely ... is Mum still here?  Last time we saw her (end of September) she said that she thought she would go back to Oz sometime late October / early November, I don't think she had finalised her plans ...  Jean-Philippe & the salon will miss her :-(
