Thanks in advance....... Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  2. I read in the Independent about the decreasing number of Horse meat butchers in Paris and the French in general losing their taste for it. They also reported a bit of a 'faux pas' by the caterers at the Horse Breeders association who served....... 'Foal Stew' !!! Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  3. Hi Rosemary, A lot of the people who could help you with info post in the 'Pet Passports' section, so it might be worth duplicating your message there. Good Luck Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  4. LAST EDITED ON 02-Feb-04 AT 08:58 PM (GMT) Think you might need to research the ins and outs of practicing this type of therapy in France, registering with the appropriate body possibly, insurance etc, working out what sort of regime is best etc Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  5. If you read the post below - 'Virus Warning' you will see someone else has got it too - luckily the 'fix' is mentioned as well Good Luck Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  6. Feves update - I got some great ones off French ebay www.eBay.fr they had a very good selection and mine came from a specialist seller, (his name was 'feves' something or other) I collect Quimper pottery and mine are like little miniatures of plates and figures, (this years series in case you are interested) They would be nice for dolls houses too I should think Gay www.russethouse.co.uk
  7. LAST EDITED ON 21-Jan-04 AT 11:34 PM (GMT) My friend in France told me she had read about this small Thameside village with two 3 Michelin star restaurants in her local paper Has any one ever eaten at either, The Waterside or the Fat Duck ? http://www.thisislondon.com/restsandbars/articles/8617022?source=Evening%20Standard Gay.
  8. Crumbs Sandra, I think you are pretty lucky to be in a position to choose. Couldn't you just alter the price so one week is more pro rata than two weeks? At least that would compensate for extra work involved if you do get lots of 1 week bookings. Gay
  9. As you are going to Vive la France why not find the LF stall and put your comments to them ? Gay.
  10. As far as the feves are concerned try your local foire de brocante, best in summer when they are cheaper!(they may need a good wash ) Gay.
  11. Glad you're back Dick - where's Julie ?? Gay.
  12. Just letting my mind wander past Christmas to the January Sales, once again I will be on the look out for pillows and looking back this seems to be an annual thing. I am allergic to feathers so they have to be polyester or hollofill but I just wondered how long pillows and other bedding last in gites and B & Bs and should I be buying a specific type? Do you use the square pillows ? True I buy in John Lewis sale, but usually mid range, not the cheapest. Any tips? If you supply other bedding what type do you get and what 'life' do you expect. (Not 100% cotton, I don't mind ironing but I have enough to do without adding that ) Gay
  13. I think you will find that unrelated French chat is mainly in the Post Bag section, so if you are on limited time I would just skip it. Re other problem, have you tried clicking on 'Conferences' at the top of each section? Hope it helps Gay.
  14. >>taking them away from family, friends
  15. Depending on where it is, if you can afford to just leave it, why not let it out ? Possibly in 3 flats ? Gay.
  16. Amelie, If you get the chance try to visit Montreiul (sp) sur Mer, not far from Le Touquet. They filmed Les Mis there. (it has a truly great cheese shop too!) Gay.

  20. I have no idea how all this works in France but cannot help but register my dismay that UK is failing to invest in its youth and therefore the future of the country........there might be a lot wrong with the current system but the amounts required to put a child through Uni now are surely going to put us back to the era where Uni was only for the better off - and this is a labour goverment! A Meldrew moment ! Gay
  21. I think you might find the Elizabeth David thread interesting Alan! Gay
  22. Could you ask them to 'SWIFT' the payment - you will need to get your SWIFT number through your bank - alternativley there is Paypal, however that would only be quick if they (and you)were already registered. Gay
