I can second Visky's suggestion. I have used Caxton FX and Currencyfair and Currencyfair are consistently the better even allowing for the €3 fee, so long as you are buying a couple of hundred euros plus. Kong  

My state pension is paid directly into my French bank. I know what the sterling value is as it's fixed annualy and paid every 28 days. A simple matter to calculate the exchange rate with each payment and that rate always matches the published interbank rates. No way could I match that through any currency exchange organizations. Interesting I had the same call today. Pointed out I worked in IT for over 20 years and managed security. They suddenly went politely cold. They called on a landline. I'm not aware Microsoft know that number!??   John

I had the same, but didn't use it. As they acquired my RIB when I applied I thought it wouldn't be needed. It wasn't - they debited the 2+10€ in due course. jk

Chancer's suggestion proved fruitful. Customer service supplied the predictably disappointing info. Calls abroad or rather the purchase of credit to make calls is not available to the mortals who have opted for the 2€ in spite of what is published in the tariffs. Hey Ho! jk

I have a free mobile card successfully running on the 2€ forfait. It works fine in France. Does anyone know how I buy 'credit' at 5€ for 3 months as advertised to make overseas calls? I can't find anything on the Free site.
