  1. Hit the start button and type power. (Do not select power in the start menu). Then select 'power options'. From there select 'choose what the power button does'. Here you can set a proper power down. From then on just hit the power button (do not hold!) to close down.
  2. Will do, but I'm not in a hurry. Having heard the US have raised their interest rates by a whopping 0.25% we can look forward to some super deals coming on the market???!!!
  3. I never expected to roll over, just pull out and collect my £10k plus 2.8%. Now to look for something else....
  4. Windows 7 is going to be supported until 2020. There is no pressure to update to W10.
  5. This has been available on Android devices for some time. Very useful if your tablet has GPS.
  6. The letter T seems to be disappearing from English. On the Sarth coast where I was working some time back, the container that milk was delivered in was called a 'bo'le'. It's the way the language is going ini'. Is the same happening in French? Round here they pronounce all the letters, terminal or not. Eg bonne is pronounced 'bonner'.
  7. It is much harder to create a shallow depth of field with modern digital cameras. Think of 'phones and tablets - they don't have focus controls - they have such a deep depth of field they don't need them. My old 6x6 rollie had an f1.8 lens which could stop down to f32. That gave you easy control over depth of field. With most modern cameras it's difficult to narrow the depth of field.
  8. I've had the same. Suddenly dead for no apparent reason. However no problems since with new battery so it is unlikely to be electrics. If one cell in the battery goes, ie plate cracks, internal connection between cells breaks, then the whole battery fails.
  9. No idea if our doctor's writing is legible, he prints his prescriptions from a pc.
  10. Sometimes with Conferama it works the other way. I bought something on line and went into the shop to collect. I spotted the same item in the shop reduced on promo. I challenged the sales guy who crossly realized the promo had finished and tore off the price tag. But he honoured the promo price, raised a sale on that price and invited me to cancel my internet order. I did have to wait some weeks for a refund!
  11. I think the norms would suggest you need a second circuit, but judging by the numbers the cables and existing 20 amp dj would cope safely. Someone better qualified than I will come along soon.
  12. I'm confusing the weight limit for the requirement for a carte grise with maximum allowed towed wieght for a group B permis. Cancel my last!
  13. Woops. Just bought a stove from them for a bit over 600€. Fortunately it arrived in one piece so I hope it'll be alright!
  14. I successfully bought some 'granny bonds' with good interest rates from NSI, but then I'm geriatric.
  15. The details are shown on my on line avis.
  16. I had a rebate last year and the social security was included in the calculation. So I don't think you will get another bill!
  17. Oh dear. I do see your problem. I hope you find a solution.
  18. That doesn't make sense. The chimney may be capped, but it is surely not sealed, otherwise how does the smoke get out? They got in and they will get out. I had a similar problem (but with wasps). I lit some paper and they simply left. No dead bodies.
  19. The credit is probably due to the currier. As a matter of interest who was it?
  20. Fair enough. But then the pedantic guy at the desk might say 'I don't care about your right to hold a licence - I wish to see a valid licence'. Frankly we are wasting bytes discussing this. I don;t believe the OP will have a problem. I tried to put a smiley in here but like all the forums recently updated things don't really work properly. Glad I've retired from IT (big smile).
  21. Don't know when the update ocured, bu the change of password didn't affect my VOIP phone or anything else, so that may not be the cause of your problem.
  22. I didn't think you would be entitled to a French and English licence simultaneously?
