3. never used it myself, but some suggestions here http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/truffle_oil Beware of this bit though;  "Use truffle oil as a garnish, especially with eggs or pasta, and only buy it in small quantities as it is very concentrated and perishes quickly once opened"

 5. It's fake http://www.snopes.com/humor/iftrue/andrews.asp You'll have to read the link , the page won't let me cut/paste

 7. Its on their website -http://www.lyonnaise-des-eaux.fr/ its an on-line fill in form type - there is no specific address
 8.
Laser printers are outside my sphere, but I am always amazed that with inkjet printers it does not seem obligatory to show on a cartridge the amount of ink that it contains. It seems a real scam to me. Angela
indeed, according to a fair few techy websites, ink costs from  $4000 per US gallon!
 9. Set it to use 'greyscale' only (printer properties - preferences)  - then you won't get any messages about empty cartridges :-)
 10.
Currently a plate has to be installed on your vehicle professionally/agrées by rivets;
Not sure that's quite right. Our local Carrefour supplied the plates and the rivets for me to fit at home.
 11. 2 flights yesterday in the Haute Vienne (18:30 so a bit too dark for close ups)
 12.
I'm sure you are right Alex. My comment was tongue in cheek, but I do have this aversion to creeping Americanisms, especially if I can describe it in English or French.
I agree. I wonder what they call plasterboard for ceilings?
 13.
Drywall sounds like an Americanism to me.
It is. I think it's because the wall can be constructed with no wet materials i.e. cement

 17.
I heard on R4 this morning that USA has huge amounts of oil, and don't need to be getting oil from other countries at all. That output is minute compared with what it could be if they chose. Is that right? Or is it the wrong sort of oil!  [8-)]
3rd largest producer after Saudi Arabia & Russia
 18.
It's shot up by about 20c here too. It's now $3.19 a gallon.
Gosh! that's nearly 1/2 the price we have here. (1.50€ per litre for unleaded at some stations)
 19. There is quite extensive help on Orange Email on the 'messagerie'page The link is 'aide' on the LHS on the 'acceuil' page of Messagerie

 22.
Would you use one again? Did it present problems?
Not a chance. I think they are OK for caravans and workshops, but unsightly in kitchens. Also there is an annoying habit of dripping constantly from the 'groupe de securite' - seems to be normal as my neighbours versions do the same
 23.
I have to replace a small water heater 15 litres, conventional with resistance, I am considering replacing with a HAKL 5.5 KVA instantaneous heater in line with the EDF Base installation i.e. 6 KVA and 30 Amps. Is this a good idea or premature spring madness? Has anyone used one of these things, by the way a DAFI is another alternative at 5.5 KVA marketed in france. Please reply quickly I'm getting fed up heating a kettle every time I need to wash the dishes.[:)]
We had one of these heaters over the sink - only 2kw though. Why would you need to 'instantaneously' heat 15 litres? What happens is that all the time the heater is on, (and it is usually on all the time) the 15 litres in the tank is hot, so unless you want to fill a bath, your solution is a bit OTT.
