I have one of their cards which lets me have an account in Euros, Sterling or Dollars. It also has the very useful function that you can create a virtual card, use it for a transaction, then immediately freeze or delete it. It's useful with any site that you are not 100% sure of..

I have given up on ovens. We have a so so upmarket countertop grill oven. 300 euros maybe. It is truly fantastic…and makes the crappy 1000 euro electrolux oven look rubbish. Which is still broken. I just want twisty knobs….I don’t neeed a setting for every recipe. Heat is heat. That brings me onto washing machines. Our washing machine has loads of different cycles. We just use ‘express 30 mins’ for everything.

Not exactly. You see, I like CF because people are nice, charming and gentle. So I post for free. I love you all. Other forums are a bit…hmmm…rough so to speak. So they have to pay me to post. My time is money. They all refused. And now every other forum is dead as a dodo. More fool them. I could bring them all alive again tomorrow…but you have to pay. Bit like playing Glastonbury…Micheal Eavis has to pay ALBF for him to turn up and woo the crowds.

It is on a separate circuit on the fuse board. All I can surmise is the earth leakage detector on the main breaker is very sensitive (500ma) more so than the MCB on the fuse board (age unknown but flat built in late 80s).

Thing is.....most people who end up in their 'right place' don't then spend much (if any) time on expat forums or expat FB groups. I've yet to figure out why I do 🤣 There must be an infinitesimal part of the psyche that just can't let go..... Originally the forums were a marvellous resource for finding one's way around, avoiding pitfalls and sharing experiences with like-minded souls in the same situation. Norman (bless him) is carrying on that tradition 🙂
