Spreadsheet for calculating French Tax liability

As an offshoot of parsnips' thread on

the chenges to tax in 2011 I have made a simple spreadsheet to

calculate French tax due under the new method of using a system of

tax 'credits' for UK Government pensions.

Most of the 'brainwork' was done by

Tinabee :)

It is only a simple version which takes

into account:

Goverment pension

OAP

Other French sourced Income

Taxable savings interest

It does not cover anything any more

complicated

It works in Euros, and the figures

entered should be gross amounts

I know that this is not really the

moment when people are interested in this, but I was otherwise

occupied when the news of the changes came through,

Those who have already received their

« Avis » might llike to see if the results from this are

the same as the official version.

If you play around with various figures

it clearly shows that Government Pensions are not taxed again

in France, as somone with only a UK income gets a tax credit'

equivalent to the tax due,

What are taxed are things llike

the OAP or other French income,

The Government Pension serves simply to

decide where this tax falls in the tax band system

The spreadsheet is available here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuTBbphDzPcwdFlMX2l0cDdUQXUwYnFKVkQycWc2a1E&hl=en_US

if it works I will update the taxbands

or next year when we know them,
