woolybanana
Does anyone know anything about the savings ac called the LDD? The interest is tax free, I know but are there any differences from the Livret A?
NormanH
I have one of thesehttp://www.credit-agricole.fr/particulier/epargne/epargne/livrets-d-epargne/livret-de-developpement-durable.htmlThe point is that you can have one of these in addition to the Livret A if you already have the maximum in that one.The maximum is lower than for a Livret A (12000 I think) but it pays the same interest. It's a good idea to have both even if neither is at the limit, as you can leave one untouched and use the other for saving up to pay utilities or taxes etc, since if you withdraw to pay these you lose interest on the account that you touch for a few weeks each time.. woolybanana
Thank you, Norman. Yes, I see the point about losing interest.

NormanH
I don't know if you can do it online, but they are usually falling over themselves to get you signed up as I think the conseilleur may get something for ithttp://inscription.credit-agricole.fr/formulaires/formulaire.php?fid=
Daft Doctor
I read somewhere that the savings limits on both the Livret LDD and Livret A were going up again in January by 25% but I haven't seen anything on the web to confirm it.

Pommier
We've got Livret A's, LDD's and LEP's all of which pay the interest tax free. Don't forget that you can have one of each (if you qualify) per person, not per household.
