Richard-R
I found this very funny ( funny= owner eating retard sandwich's). Only fair I should share it. Sorry it is not a hot link, something rather stone age about this forum. http://francesucks.com Gives you a warm glow towards some of our American cousins. The author seems to have left out the Frence support for American Independence, Statue Of Liberty, Sale of the 'South'Edited for link - admin
Dick Smith
Indeed. But it's comforting to know you can buy a 'France Sucks' thong. Is there ANYTHING these people don't hate?

chris pp
It's a bit extreme, whoever wrote that's not a happy bunny - there's some pretty inflammatory stuff "out there" on the web it seems.Chris
Opalienne
Note that the thong (for men) is only available in a small size.......
Ron Avery
I thought that this was one of those months old threads that newbies seem to like regurgitating, but then found that it wasn't, but it should be. This tosh was highlighted by a troll months ago, seem to recall trailer trash bening mentioned at the time, which about sums up some of the views, not really worth a second viewing is it? And before you dismiss it out of hand, it should be noted that those who frequent it obviously keep up with French news much better than many who live here.Like the Sun, it's worth looking at now and again to remind yourself of the armies of the Great Unwashed who share our planet with us. The Riff-Raff Element
[:)] Gladens the heart really - provides a touchstone to remind me thathowever barking mad and unreasonable I, my friends and my family mightbecome, there are people out there who make us look like high courtjudges. "And before you dismiss it out of hand, it should be noted that thosewho frequent it obviously keep up with French news much better thanmany who live here." Perhaps, but then they do have a ratherunhealthy obsesion to feed rather than a genuine interest in current affairs.

The Riff-Raff Element
And another thing. I have heard a great deal more anti-Americansentiment in the UK than I have ever come across in France (but I mixwith nice people), yet I have never come across an equivalent "limeyssuck" website. Is there one?

Mind you, I don't REALLY understand why Muslims in Iraq and Indonesia are burning Danish and French flags and threatening unspeakable things on foreign nationals. Deimos
Not related to any particular web site(s), but Ioccasionally find it surprising some prominent US figures who have become“anti-French”. Some are quite outspokenabout it (Hollywood superstars and the like). Maybe I’m being unfair but I have often considered such“anti-xxx” opinions something more for “un-informed” (those maybe prone tobelieving everything they read, etc.- the type the politicians “work”), butthere are some US intelligent, wealthy, successful, etc. individuals who areoutspoken “anti-French”. (But I guess naming the people I’ve been told aboutwould be slander/libel, etc.) Ian
PossumGirl
Please don't hate ALL Americans because of these morons. Imust tell you though, that after some of this ugly stuff started in theStates, JM and I were a little worried for a while. Everyone in ourneighborhood knew he was French and we'd heard stories of people inother states (Texas comes to mind) having anti-France graffitti spraypainted on their homes.Mostly, in L.A., people are very pro-French. We got lots of"street-cred" in Hollywood for actually moving after the 2004 election!Randy

With or without it, you'd have goodpeople doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good peopleto do bad things, it takes religion.” His opinion and sometimes one cannot help but think he has apoint. I have heard a great deal more anti-Americansentiment in the UK than I have ever come across in France (but I mixwith nice people) ...
My impression (based on a very limited sample) is that inFrance the sentiment is more anti-Bush (and his “partners in crime”) whereas inthe UK, in addition to the obvious Iraq war sentiments, there is a bit of anti-USsentiment through general resentment of the UK lifestyle becoming more “Americanised”(though I suspect those who dislike the “Americanisation” are also the onesusing McDonalds, suing everybody for everything, driving SUV’s, etc. Ian
Alcazar
Saw on the news this morning that a survey carried out across quite a few countries, (around 50, I think), by the BBC world service, rated the USA as second only to Iran for having a negative impact on the world[:(]It also said that the UK felt 65% that the USA were negative, while France felt 75% the same.Alcazar

tmto
For a more worthy website of American and French culture I found this the other day http://www.codofil.org/Actually it doesn't have much to do with France itself, but it makes for interesting reading
SaligoBay
With the key difference being Rupert Murdoch?
Je ne comprends pas, Dick. Is it not a good thing that the British love their American brothers and sisters 10% more? Surely Rupert is bringing us all together to create a world full of love, peace, and happiness. Or is that the Jehovah's Witnesses? I get confused.
