Zidane to Enter Politics?

Recommended Posts

A chap I met after Saturday's stunning game reckoned that Zizou was

planning to enter the political arena after this current world cup.

He'd had a few drinks, I'll admit, but spoke with great authority,

stating that Zidane had spurned the socialists as being "completely

useless" and was planning to support the interests of the UMP. Well, I

can't find anything on the old www to give me any indication that

Zidane is going to do anything other than potter around the garden and

finally tidy out the garage once he hangs up his boots, but I suppose

anything is possible. Has he given any important hints that I may have

missed? Are he and Sarko drinking buddies on the sly? Does he visit

naughty night clubs with Chirac? What is going on?

According to my well-placed sources, until recently Tony Blair had been trying to persuade Wayne Rooney to stand in the next by-election in a safe Labour seat.  The plan was to bump him up to Deputy PM as soon as he got elected.

As you would expect, after Saturday's debacle the No. 10 press office is flatly denying this story.

Rumour has it Blair is now attempting to "tap up" Peter Crouch instead.

Eric Cantona played the French Ambassador in Elizabeth, I think.  Rooney for Secretary-General of the UN?

I reckon he will but more on the charity side of things, promoting sport, kids, ethnic minorities, inner city youth and all of that. He is a good guy and certainly have not heard or read miles of gossip column like you would read of Beckam or Rooney!...

In temperament I liken Zidane to Lineker. Because he is quiet doesn't mean that he does nothing with his life. He is a good man.

But tonight Zizou you must get your team to win against Portugal!... [:D]

I must read the wrong papers - Waynes girlfriend, Colleen, yes, we here plenty about her, but not so much of Wayne.

Nah..........you're just reading the wrong PAGES of the papers[:D]

I've recently "had" to take up reading "The Sun", ( well, it's MADE of paper.....), which my eldest gets from someone he works with. Reason? Our local pubquiz now has 5 questions set on "current affairs", which we stupidly thought would be BBC newsworthy[:$] Instead, they are all about Colleen, Wayne, Posh, David, and ENDLESS soap "stars" and all their doings. Yawn.

Yeah, it's a bit softer than what I normally use............oops, giving away secrets again[;-)]

To get back on topic: I REALLY REALLY wish Zizou WOULD enter politics. I'd give quite a lot to see him head butt Tony Blair like that! Hee hee hee![:P]

It's not bad, is it? But the site's had so many hits now (not from Zizou, from visitors) that it has suffered meltdown, I think!

Did you hear the Irish priest on UK radio doing a thought for the day refer to Zidane as Zizi?  Not the same thing at all as Zizou!  French slang for part of the male anatomy.[:D]

" sacrified his own identity ", in choosing ... Blacks, " Islamists " and " Communists "
