Jeanneclaire
I heard some expert on France Info say that it does more harm than good as the supply companies don't like big surges and drops in demand. I forgot anyway even had I been planning to do it.
Meg
Nope, didn't know about it. And i'd have forgotten to do it anyway. Actually if i had known i'd have switched everything ON instead!! Just for fun!! [:)]
TWINKLE
We did it and we went outside to spy on pur neigbours to see if they did it too. Two out of six of our neighbours did it plus us so that's about 40% ish. My daughter wasn't happy that the street lights were still on though. RumziGal
Goodness me, imagine having the Eiffel Tower turned on on a red day! [:-))]
5-element
I'd prepared for this "event" for several weeks - and received a dozen or so notices fromvarious quarters to remind me of it. And then... by 19.55 it was the meteo on TV....and I forgot all about it, until the newsreader announced that "Now we could turn all our lights back on!" - I was mortified....Still, as Rumzigal pointed out, it being a red day, at least I only had ONE light on, and the TV. So I could pretend I did the 5 minutes for most of the day[:D]
