8 years later and unbeknown to me at the time the whole office used to gather at the window at 4.40 precisely to watch the mad boy racer in his V6 Anglia with Carlos Fandango super wide wheels do his customary 5 laps against the clock on his way home from the factory.

I found this out by chance many years later, (my sister having left to start a family) they were all hoping one day I would crash and get my come uppance.

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about that; with the 5 roundabouts.  Mind you, if you knew exactly how to negotiate it, it's very easy to just nip across to the exit you want while other people are still nervously dithering....

I wonder if the roundabout at Swindon is like the multi-layered ones at High Wycombe; you come down the long steep hill to be met by a set of those, with people going in all directions round them. Ugh![8-)]

That's how people in Cheltenham negotiate ordinary roundabouts. I have never come across a place more clueless about how to use them, and road lanes in general.

Have you seen how many flats and pubs/restaurants they have built on it and also all the traffic lights to spoil the fun for the challengers to my crown?

unrecognisable..... no I grew up in Three Bridges, so remember the squareabout, we used to race around the bus station carpark before County Mall was built and the college carpark which was Sainsburys carpark, ahhhhhhh memories lol
