Jonzjob
We have got this floating around us today, but there is something a bit odd about it? It's the Airbus aircraft and no 2 engine is a different colour and althugh you can't see it from this very long shot it looks to have a slightly larger diameter.Any ideas anyone?Above us must be one of their testing grounds. We see it quite often..

pachapapa
You got me there, to me it looks smaller. It could be just a normal engine without an engine shroud.

Sprogster
My guess is that they are flight testing a new engine variant and it has a cowling painted in a different colour for easier identification purposes.

Pickles
My guess is that they are flight testing a new engine variant and it has a cowling painted in a different colour for easier identification purposes.
Correct! It's an early A380 carrying a prototype Trent XWB in place of one inboard Trent 900 as part of the engine development for the A350.
