Vine leaf shortage?

I find it quite amazing that we live in the richest country in the world for wine and yet  when I come to look for vine leaves (as we adore them stuffed), we seem to hit a wall. The only explanation I get is that they're sprayed with bordelaise and inedable! Surely there must be someone who enjoys them stuffed as we do!

If so, please respond and put us out of our misery!

I love stuffed vine leaves too, but I've never seen them for sale here, though I suppose I haven't really been looking for them as we have vines growing on our land anyway.

If you live in a rural area you could try looking for wild vines later in the year, or even grow some vines of your own.  They are available in most garden centres, and you'd get the added pleasure of your own grapes too.

We have a wild vine that we can't seem to kill (it is badly

located).  However, we always use the leaves for stuffing.

They are wonderful.  We even pick, wash and freeze bags of them.

However, I have to add that the jarred ones are available at our

Carpentras LeClerc and our Le Pontet Auchan.  So, we can always

buy them if we need to.

You might also try any ethnic markets that may be near you.

We love them too !
