I certainly don't appreciate that soft white cheese Leo mentioned. When eating out we are often offered various varieties of pelardon which I like, and sometimes a variety of cheeses if we go slightly more up-market. But I'm going to try that Ossau Iraty if our cheese man on the market has it tomorrow.

...and unpasteurised cheddar from around Cheddar easily beats any cheddar I have tried elsewhere, but I agree with Chancer it is an unfair comparison.  Why isn't cheddar only from the Cheddar area, Stilton is only from Stilton, Roquefort from Roquefort etc?
