However, the birds are frantically feeding from the bird feeders and the cats are eating loads and their coats are getting thicker, so I reckon we could be in for a really cold winter this year. Suninfrance Posted November 3, 2007 Author Share Posted November 3, 2007 We have two woodburners - one in the kitchen, one in the lounge, which only gets lit in the evenings. That lot in the stockage is for next winter (thinking ahead you see) and BTW it is has grown over the last couple of days as we've been chopping up our latest delivery. Suninfrance Posted November 5, 2007 Author Share Posted November 5, 2007 First things first - top field is not ours and it is quite possible a parachute has landed.Second but most important, Suninfrance is Mrs Sun. Mr Sun & Mrs Sun cut the wood and stacked with help of friends who were over at the beginning of October. It seems, however that Mrs Sun's job is to "get the logs in" and that lot is for next year. This year's stockage is tucked away in "the woodshed" which is a d**n sight closer to the house - thank goodness, and hopefully we will have enough to last us two fires worth during the winter. You lot reeeeeaaalllly are jealous, but you have no need to be. Just think of all those man/woman hours cutting, shifting, stacking. No serious renovation per se at the moment, just customisation. Next year we hope to put a lozh roof (to match the main one) over the area attached to the bread oven, and over the single story extension between that and the main house (shown in the following pics) which leaks like a sieve at the moment. The house was originally in three parts but we have now knocked through to make one house. The best bit is that we are now putting in a new kitchen after having only a sink and 1950's cooker since moving in . I'll not know myself once its finished.[:D][:D] Thanks mods for doing my photos.
