Dave&Olive Posted July 26, 2008 Share Posted July 26, 2008 hi ok 9X2 yes you are right std uk size been working with the French ones too long .. but saying that 4.8 mtrs is a bit much even for 9x2 . 13 ft should be the max span for a norm loaded floor.( old school formula twice the span in yards plus one ) French terms for the wood .not sure what they all mean but pick up any brico type mag and they will be in there like ... chevrons 63 X 75 roofing joists ...solivette 32 x 175 ... ish demi- chevron etc .. The extra cost will not be a lot and once you've properly waterproofed it and maybe added some slabs or a bit of shingle the thing will bounce around a bit.
