Apologies if this has been posted before, but I just found this on the French Embassy, in the UK site.

3) Inactive people already benefiting from the CMU under the previous rules are being given 6 months to take out private insurance. During this period they will continue to be covered by the CMU.

6) Instructions will soon be sent to the CPAMs drawing their attention to these provisions and making it clear that these apply to everyone covered by them; only people already registered with the CMU can benefit from the six-months’ period referred to in 3) above.

I agree.  References to E121 and E106 seem to suggest a situation that is at least 3 years old wrt the UK.  Although I will confess to having a valid and current German E106

That is way out of date. I have been awarded CMU-C for life more or less.

Val, I never thought that this would, in any shape or form apply to yourself. A long term resident firmly and fully in the system and you should have your CMU.

That Consulate web page is the one they issued at the time of the 2007 health insurance upheaval when existing CMU'ers were given six months before being kicked out of the system.
