Sky Mini-dish too small, Brico dish instead?

Recommended Posts

Just to tidy up the technical words used (in case it isn't obvious in the shop).

Dishes themselves are not anaolgue or digital,  nor are the LNB's mounted on them.   That part is all down to the receiver itself.    So the dish sold with an anolgue receiver would work with Sky too.

It is important that the LNB (or tete, sorry can't find the accent) is "unverselle",  which refers to the frequencies it covers and passes on to the receiver.   Almost all tetes are universelle but again if you're armed with the correct terminology you don't risk a kerfuffle in the shop.

Yeah, and as a follow-up to this, I went to Gitem with my friends to get their dish and the very helpful lady explained all of the above, and went round the shop and got them everthing they needed so there was no going back for stuff we had forgotten.  She was quite familiar with the Brits and Skyboxes syndrome (although there aren't that many of us around here).  Good stuff.
