Vet near Stuttgart, Nancy, Metz

Hi,

Does anyone know/have experience of a vet in the region of the cities above, that speaks some English, and has done the worming, etc, for Pet Passport to return to UK?

All Vets can speak some English - it's the one subject they have to study at Veterinary College outside of their standard subjects. They may not WISH to talk in English but beleive me they can!

Most Vets have experience of the Pet Passport scheme.

Maybe true for Metz and Nancy, but unless Stuttgart has moved across the border there is no guarantee that a German vet will speak any English whatsoever - ours doesn't - although many may well do so.

Oh, thanks. I heard somewhere they didn't all speak it. :) That's okay about Stuttgart. I indicated merely near it. So it's just a matter of yellow pages search? I was hoping someone had experience of a vet around there. And they all do the worming and tick treatments to get back into England?

I asked a German friend (who has many cats, dogs, horses and there always seems to be something wrong with one of them) if his vet spoke English.  He said yes as do many in the Rheinland-Platz area due to the many American Airbases that were in the area until recently.  It may be a bit far from you, Bitburg (yes, where the beer is brewed) but she does do the vet passport thing and I can get a phone number if you want

That's the problems with generalisations.

 

* non English speaking - but (so he tells me) OK in Polish and Russian and I can vouch for his German[:D]
