Which plates I do change around when I change countries. And occasionally swap with Belgian and Luxembourg plates. Must be a French van masquerading as a Brit to get someone into trouble. Anyway, he doesn't need a tax disc as he is not in UK and as it is not a French van, it doesnt need French insurance.
