AnOther Posted July 2, 2008 Share Posted July 2, 2008 Whilst there is no recurring road tax as such there is a fee to be paid on 1st registration, then again another by a new owner if you sell plus if you move departments (this one may be free) so there is an income stream albeit by other names and methods.There is of course the bi-annual CT test, analagous to the UK's MOT, but only for cars over 4 years old. It's recently gone up to something like 64Euros IIRC.Other than that, if you keep your car forever and never move or go on the peage, then after the registration fee you never pay anything more [:D] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

zeb Posted July 3, 2008 Share Posted July 3, 2008 There's going to be some sort of increased duty for gas guzzlers from the beginning of next year, but I should imagine that the rates will go up for the carte gris when the car is first registered.
