bixy Posted October 24, 2009 Share Posted October 24, 2009 I went to get a quote for two new tyres for a 4x4 and was told that it is obligatory to have the same brand on all four wheels. I’d always prefer to have the same brand all round, but I didn’t manage it on our Astra and that has passed two CTs with Michelins on the front and Continentals on the rear. Yes, all should be the same size/construction and I’d definitely want the same brand on an axle. Time to try another tyre dealer I suspect. Anton Redman Posted October 24, 2009 Share Posted October 24, 2009 Some debate about whther it should simply be same brand or Same manufacturer and model but nowhere in the legislation has anybody ever found anything other than same tyres on same axel and no mixing of radials, by belt or cross plys.
