Decorative gravel will be laid over the base, but before I go to the quarry it would be useful to have some idea of what to ask for. It sticks in the treads of your shoes, your car fills up with it and it a PAIN. We have a 60 yard drive and a largish parking area at the top of it and if we had out way it would go and at least bigger stones put down, but it was here when we bought the house. It's wonderful for our terra cotta floor tiles too. It puts nice deep scratches in them so that you don't slip when it's wet?????Good luck,John. SCREECH.Going back a bit, the quarry spec gives you min and max sizes so 0-30mm is anything between 0 and 30mm. We have some 0-12mm and some 0-6mm which is too small. Jonzjob Posted April 19, 2006 Share Posted April 19, 2006 One good thing about all the doors in our house is that they have lift off hinges, so I lifted them off and put small washers on the pins. Now the doors are that little bit higher off the tiles and the screech doesn't happen 1/2 as often.
