  1. If you are anywhere that has the signal from the Audrix (near Le Bugue) transmitter, it was down on Thursday & Friday. Should be all OK now. As for going digital. You may only need the boxes, they are called TNT. Your aerial may well be OK. You could buy a box, connect it to the aerial (and the TV!!!!). If it works then you will not need a new aerial. This is obviously only for French TV.
  2. Where are you moving to, that will be the main factor as to what services you can receive.
  3. You can buy a FREESAT box in the UK(they also come with hard drives like Sky+, but more expensive), connect it to a dish pointed at the correct satellite and you will receive all UK free to air programmes (all BBC channels, all ITV channels, C4, C5, E4, More4, Film4 and and many more).
  4. We had our new 'repeater' opened about 2 months ago. We were the last house to get ADSL at 512k, being 7kms from the exchange. The repeater is 200 metres from our house, we now get 6megs!!!!! We were told we might get 20megs! LOL 6 is very good, so no complaints. It will come to most in the next couple of years. Our 'repeater' was the first in the Dordogne, and they have opened up a further 8 since!
  5. Finally!!!!!!! As an ex-cop in the same force, I know that he has been investigated many times previously! He always cried 'racism' though, and the powers that be always backed off (promoted him and/or paid out compensation!). This time his accuser was from the Middle East, so the racism angle could not be used.
  6. Apparently there has been a problem at the broadcaster/satellite end. Work is under way to put it right! Please see these forums for good Freesat advice: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=c707c63a703fb7980ea6f61e6eaf510b&f=199 http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/ This one specially for Humax users: http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/index.php?s=1d1f6ea614e9cbc54c5327fbfd08986e This site has news updates for Freesat: http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/
  7. I think you can connect to another TV via a scart lead. However, I do not think that you can watch any TV channel while playing back recorded content. You can record a TV channel while watching a previous recording though.
  8. Usually the TV will just process the picture received and output in the relevant scale (HD/SD).
  9. Hi, Had mine for a few months, excellent piece of kit. Just enter any UK postcode, and on 101 & 103 you will get that postcode's BBC & ITV region. Probably on 102 you will get BBC Wales (but not sure, as I used an English postcode). That is the only reason for the postcode request. You will get all other BBC regions & ITV London in the 900s. Have a look at these forums for lost more assistance: http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/index.php?s=1d1f6ea614e9cbc54c5327fbfd08986e http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=c707c63a703fb7980ea6f61e6eaf510b&f=199 http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/ Regards, Paul.

  11. Hi, Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I am looking for a Scaffold Tower to rent or borrow for a couple of days (am in 24, between Perigueux & Sarlat). Is there a place which hires these out? Thanks in advance. Paul.
  12. As a very proud Scot .....arent we all?  Can I ask permission to save your picture to use as an avatar?  Brought a smile to my face. x[:-))]
