1.
As to the extent which Brexit supporters and the campaign are racist, my own conclusions from reading, listening and talking to people is that they are, very much so.
So, are you saying that all those who are going to vote for EXIT are racist?
2. I keep hearing pro-Remain campaigners say things like "of course the EU has problems and needs reforming but we can best do that from staying within the EU". Seriously, does anyone think it likely the EU will reform itself whether we stay in or leave? Quite the opposite I feel.
3. Oh well, we planned to delay our next visit to the house until the end of June because of building work we're having in the UK. Given what seems to be the state of play in France at the moment I can see us delaying further or perhaps not bothering at all.
4. My observations are similar to many of those highlighted previously. I especially dislike: The ridiculous amount of tailgating. I sometimes wonder if thye are trying to save fuel and have hooked a towrope onto me. The obsession to overtake even when to do so would be (and is) lunacy. Not quite as bad as in India though. Driving round blind bends pretty much on the wrong side of the road.
5. Tbh, I don't think you can really buy a bad TV from one of the main manufacturers... performance and quality seems to be pretty good from most of them. Having said that, we're currently running three Sony Bravias - 2 in the Uk and one in France. One UK one is connected via Virgin Media, the other Uk is wirelessly connected to the web. The French one is connected via a HUMAX box to Freesat. All excellent.
6. Glad to be of help.  It isn't always obvious to find these settings.
7. Go to "Options"  >> "Show remote content in this message"
8. Bertie Wooster and Roper... quite a contrast. Great programme and  a good cast.
9. I don't see any reason to attempt to be polite to these callers. A brief reference to sex and travel is the most I say.
10. The "Stay In" campaign constantly argue that we should remain in this awful club and work for reform from within. The difficulty Cameron seems to be having in moving even these modest proposals moving forward just indicate (to me at least) that these clowns have no intention of changing and only want to move towards even closer integration.... Not for me thank you.
11. He asked for very little and has ended getting even less. Useless. Still, it may help the OUT campaign so not all bad. But marks?  A big fat ZERO.
12.
This is why I think it is a European problem and last time I looked the UK was part of Europe and should be part of the solution.
Well, clearly it is a European problem. However, the UK had the good sense (for a change) not to sign up for Schengen.
13. The French should never have allowed the camps to be established and to grow to the size they are now. They are only situated in the Calais area as the migrants want to cross over to the UK. Are the camps legal? I doubt it. Have the migrants continued to commit illegal acts in order to try and cross into the UK?  Certainly and continually. The French should have removed these camps well away from this area years ago. By force if necessary. I presume that the only reason they have allowed them to remain in the general area they are now is the wish that the UK will give in and open the doors to them, thereby removing the problem from France.
14. If the conditions in Calais and Dunkirk are not acceptable that is down to France to resolve. If there are unaccompanied children then, again, it is up to France to take the appropriate action. It is not down to the UK to sort this out. So far, we haven't been foolish enough to allow this mass movement of people into the country and long may that remain so. Just because many may want to come to the UK doesn't mean anything. We are told they wanted to escape danger. Well, they've done that.
15.
Some are now being encouraged to apply for Asylum in France and then, if accepted they can apply to the UK, if they have close relatives there.
I just hope the UK will resist that.
16. I thought those in Calais and Dunkirk were in a safe place.... at least I thought France would be considered a safe place.
17. I recently bought a new Dell laptop with W10... no problems and I'm pretty happy with most aspects of it. I put on Firefox and Thunderbird for my mail... all good and the migration of files and folders and passwords from my old laptop worked well. I also had a Lenovo mini PC as a file servers/web interface for one of our TVs. This originally came with Windows 8... a truly awful OS. I downloaded W10 and put it on the Lenovo and all good.
18. I quite liked some of Bowie's music but he was never someone I actively followed. I was sorry to hear of his death from cancer, as I am for anyone. However, the media is, IMO, overdoing the coverage and hyperbole... On last nights BBC TV News the first 15 minutes of the 30 minute programme were all about Bowie. Out of all proportion (again, IMO).
19.
Readers may recall that it was a little under two years ago that I and my neighbours were up to our armpits in River Thames.......................... ................................................................................................... And there is NOTHING more frightening than waiting for that moment you can't prevent with sandbags or flood defences or anything else, because you can't stop it. And nor can Cameron or Corbyn or anyone else.
A good post.
20. Perhaps if Labour hadn't p*ssed away all the mony and left nothing in the pot when they left power in 2010 as typified by Liam Byrne's note to the incoming David Laws saying 'Dear chief secretary, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left,'
21. I'm not proud.... thanks, useful for me.
22. Yes they do and the are using them in the Yemen.
23.
At least we are still able to cycle Sid. Les.
And me... a bit down on last year but a bit over 4,000 miles YTD.  Just pleased that I can still do it (I think I'm a bit older than you Vette).  Bought another Wilier this year and love it.
24. Some great climbs in this next tour. It has the making of a great race if all the contenders are on form and avoid injuries. http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/racing/tour-de-france/seven-key-climbs-of-the-2016-tour-de-france-196139
25. I don't know your particular camera but after you have focused on your chosen object by half depressing the shutter do you then have to keep the shutter button half depressed to keep that chosen object in focus as you recompose?
