CPAM email

Thanks for all your replies. The "message" in the form of a letter was in our Ameli account online. It didn't come through to our personal email nor by post. The last "message" was February 2017. I sent off by recommande the 3 months of EDF bills which was requested in this message, and I also replied by "message" the same letter but couldn't send any justifications as the message system doesn't seem to allow you.

CPAM email

CPAM are saying that as we ignored their previous email (which we didn't receive) asking for proof that we live in France full time, they have cancelled our health cover and want us to send back our carte vitales and EHIC cards. We have lived in France for 14 years I didn't think this could happen. I will be sending a letter off tomorrow with 3 EDF bills and the latest water bill. Hopefully this is just an administration error but the email does mention PUMA, whom we have never heard anything from. Has anyone else received anything like this?
3. Hi Norman thanks for your post but I'm confused. Is this the new PUMA system that was meant to be in operation Autumn this year? Thanks
4. I'm just trying to finish off and sign our tax declaration but I don't remember this coming up before: .....Ces coordonnées seront utilisées en 2017 pour toute opération de restitution et en 2018 pour toute opération de prélèvement ou de restitution liée à votre impôt sur le revenu. It won't let me get past "accepting" these conditions I'm sure I've never had to give these details before Thanks
5. Loiseau ive had multiple fractured ribs and know how painful they are and they take a good while to heal. Rest and take care
6. Thank you Cajal. I managed to watch UK TV and several others on my tablet ?. It didn't seem to want me to register though. Never mind, at least it's better than a 2 min timer with film on. Until the next thing comes along ?
7. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this, bought this in France and if so we're there any health benefits? I've been reading about the benefits of this and some friends around the world recommend it, if you Google it it really does sound gross. However, for many health reasons I will give anything a go, if it helps but apart from our local Carrefour and their own apple cider vinegar, which doesn't have "the mother" Im not sure if it's possible to buy here.
8. Thanks to the OP. I clicked on the link you gave however it brought up a list to the left of the screen and I tried to register but nothing happened. In fact anything I click on nothing happens. What am I doing wrong please?
9. ALBF thank you for the constructive advice. We will be travelling on motorways on the outskirts of Lyon to Italy so hopefully will be able to avoid the sticker issue.
10. It's our business ALBF as to why we want a sticker and putting remarks on forums like this is not helpful.
11. I think I might have done something wrong with this so looking for some reassurance. I went onto the gouv website, followed the English link, I put the French immatriculation in and the date it was first registered. Then it took me onto the payment page which I completed. I was given a reference number and then received an emailing as confirmation of my request. However I did not see anywhere that I could attach the CG. So will they get back to me to as further details? Thanks

Cataracts

If you want I can give you my Opthalmo who is based in Cahors. I had a cataract op last August, other eye now needs doing. PM me if you want his details, I'm not sure if he's too far for you.
13.
OK - I'm up for a bit of stirring here. In the run-up to Brexit, and following the 'leave' vote, we had all sorts of comments about UK ex-pats living in the eu - and their rights, or non-rights etc. All sorts of scare stories - all based on 'what ifs' and urban myths. We even have a group which is working to ensure that UK ex-pats don't get ignored. T May approached various eu countries, including Germany, to ask if there could be agreement about UK citizens living in the eu - and was told, very firmly that there could be no agreement prior to the talks. So the eu refused this request. Now I wonder how some of you feel listening to Corbyn, and the Labour Party, who are openly offering all kinds of guarantees to eu citizens living in the UK - but absolutely NOTHING to guarantee any rights of UK citizens living in the eu. No talk about reciprical arrangements - nothing. Makes me feel that TM tried to get our situation sorted, but got no co-operation from Merkel or any eu country. Labour - want to guarantee the rights of eu citizens in the UK - but with no demands, no requests, for equal treatment of UK citizens in the eu. So far from being used as 'bargaining chips' - seems Labour would ignore us, and it is the eu itself which wants to use UK ex-Pats as 'bargaining chips' doesn't it ? Strange old world. Chessie
I find it very worrying that no reciprocal agreement has been offered. Where does that leave us all living in France (or Spain or Portugal etc.). We've ploughed loads of money into this economy with building 2 houses, shopping, paying our taxes etc.
14. We moved from Dept 22 to Dept 24 in 2008, and I can honestly say it was like moving to a different planet. Nothing was straightforward but we were in that period of time when the healthcare was changing dramatically. Hopefully things are easier now so good luck with it
15. I'm confused too OP. We usually pay our 8% to CPAm/URSSAF as we are not on S1 cover. I don't work, only my OH does. We paid no cotisations last year, or to date this year and I'm getting a bit worried about a huge bill to come for back payments. We've heard nothing from PUMA/CPAM or URSSAF. I'm sure they will be in touch soon but as I normally claim the URSSAF payment on our tax return (box 6DD) this year I assume I can't put anything as we didn't actually pay anything last year. It's just a bit worrying. I've tried to go through our local CPAM but they don't know either.
16. I never knew it was called Spannish, always thought it was Spanish. Have I been wrong all these years?
17. I used to work at Blackfriars in London during the IRA days. We often had bomb scares at the train stations and on one occasion I remember I had been late night shopping at Oxford Street on a Thursday evening, I caught the usual train home and as I got off the train I heard an explosion. I later found out that Selfridges had been bombed and I had been there just half an hour before. The next day I got up and went to work again as though nothing had happened. I do feel for all the families and friends of people caught up in the attack this week. Somehow, back in the 70s we coped with it, almost expected it but the terrorists of today use totally different means of causing harm.
18.
To be honest if I was offered a choice of how to go, dying in my sleep would be top of the list. In fact I think it would be the only one on the list. I wouldn't odds it.
My Dad did, nice for him I suppose but not for us and my elderly Mum who found him. I like to think he died peacefully but we'll never know as they never carried out a PM to establish cause of death as he was seeing the dr after a bout of pnumonia. To Chessie, it sounds like you have a war on your hands trying to get him to see a dr and get help. What is it with (some) men that they have to always deny anything is wrong yet complain all the time with their problem? Good luck
19. Strange but I recently had a 3 week holiday and after flying on the Saturday, by Monday I was thick with a cold and cough which really spoilt the first week of my holiday. I haven't had a cold for years and years, can't remember the last one so typical to get one then. As for teas, I quite like the Lidl nuit tranquille tea, it has camomile and fleurs d'orange. It's cheap too.
20. My nurses always give the flu jab in the shoulder/back area and I have never had any reaction. So far so good, no flu or even cold. However I am off on vacance next week so feel sure it might catch up with me after all the air conditioning on the aircraft! Hope not.
21. When our daughter did her driving, which if the system like she did where she is allowed to drive as long as someone experienced is with her, she had to drive around 4000 kms to gain experience as well as having driving lessons and a course held by local gendarmes. She was told one of the main reasons for so many accidents is people driving on the wrong side of the road! Have edited this because he wasn't talking about the English drivers. I don't understand why the driving is so bad here, as there is considerable experience, studying and lessons for a good 2 years before even taking the test.
22. I tried the google street maps, unfortunately all it shows is a dotted line which I assume is the main road. We are so remote it probably isn't there. However, having spoken to my daughter who did her driving and test in France she confirms I was in the wrong and he had priority. Blimey Chancer, it wasn't you was it lol?
23. I know this issue has arisen in the past but basically if on the main road and there is no red triangle with "priorite a droit" sign, who does have priority? Today a dodderer pulled out right in front of me, I was on the main road he was pulling out of a little side lane. There were no signs saying he had the right of way but equally on his road there were no stop signs. After suffering a bit of road rage (on my part) I do think he was actually right and I was wrong.
24. I had one of these Hadopi emails about 5 years ago. To be honest, I thought Hadopi had long been phased out, didn't realise they were still spying. Thanks for the warning.
