2. Our thoughts are with you at this very sad time dragonrouge,  I have been working so hard of late that things have become a little blinkered this has reminded me that there are more important things in life,  it has reminded me of our little meg who was put to sleep in december you will always miss them but know that they are not hurting any more. Judith
3. wow they look fab you are a very talented person I like the goblets
4. Hi I have always been able to access my english bank account from my french neighbours computer without any trouble over the last four years.  I have however as i have said on a differetn thread used Madonlads in France and had my address book wiped so will not be reaeating that exoerience.  I am looking into a USB 3G type dongle for when I am in France.   Judith
5. Hi all Thank you for the replys they make interesting reading. Well done georgina I am jealous really.[:P] I think that last night was feeling my age rather alot and when I was given the news of the new babies I was a bit overwhelemed. The very Idea of looking after very young children for the forseeable futre and not being able to give them back made me feel even older.   However, saying that my eldest grandchild will be nine tomorrow and I am looking forward to celebrating it with him. Hubby wants me to go mountain biking at the week end as well!  There is hope for me yet..... x
6. I have just been given the fantastic news that a friends wife had given birth to twins, well you can imagine I am over the moon for them they were a healty 6lb each and doing well.  the thing that got me thinking was, that although I am really pleased for them, the mother will be retired before they leave school.  Now I know how hard it is to be an 'older mum' as they say having had my first child relatively young and my last some 18 years later. It was really hard. This led me to thinking of other things, for exmple some of the kids at school think I am too old to go out and enjoy myself, or have a quite smooch with my hubby. What do you think?
7. hi all I am looking for French TV on the Internet as the credit crunch has hit Mr Poivre has reduced sky subscription to basic and I have been desperately trying to learn french and keep what little i know already,  I listen to the radio in french but if anyone could point me to a web based tv station that would be great.   Judith
8. Bonjour tout le monde yes Frenchie  you are right after I had finished planning the homework booklets for next term I have the two large super U bags that i brought home with course work to mark, the only advantage to a half term is that I can actully get them marked and be able to make coffee when I want one [:D] the other thing is that it always takes a few days to be able to wind down abit before you can even begin to recoup your energy for the next term because as some of the posts on here have said it is a lot of work, full on most of the time. Judith
9. Gastines  It is somthing that I had noticed over the summer when I was last at my house that all there was a lot of new investment in the slightly bigger towns and even some of the smaller ones are having lots of money pumped into them.   Les herbiers for example aready has losts of big shops but has now included a new shopping area including a declathalon.  The little town near us has also gained a bigger shopping centre next to the Lidl including Hale shops.  My neighbours were really excited as it mean they do not have to travel to la roch sur yon to the big centres there or Nante any more to go shopping. Although I dont think that house prices are particualrly good in our area at the moment it being quite rural.   Judith
10. Thanks for the replys guys appreciate it I will look to see on the tourist board web site thanks and will look in local papers when i have the chance. Thanks again Oh and happy valentines day to all Judith
11. Hi all I have just been looking at a bike events magazine for charity bike rides in the the UK. I was wondering if any one could tell me if there is a similar type of magazine, events calendar for france and how would i be able to get one here. We have in the past completed a bike ride for a football club that was raising money, but that was through a freind of a friend.  It would be good if anyone could tell us if there are any towards the end of august when my hubby will be able to join us.The Vendee area or near would be good.[:D]   Thanks in advance Judith
12. Odile mes condoléances  je suis triste pour vous sorry I dont know enough French.  Take care, look after your self. Judith
13. I personally read this forum for the great and interesting diversity of topics that are found on it.  When I look though if the topic does not interest me then as others have stated on here Idon't look at it.  It is a personal choice thing which we all have.
14. Thanks pachpapa I have been trying to open the other link for ages 24 months doesnt seem such a bad thing if it is the right thing for us, but we will look into it. We don't even know if we  have 3g in our area properly, I know we pick up SFR and Orange at our house but unsure about the 3G.
15. Unfortunately not They were all in ones, very figure huggin, blue with a white stripe down the side. I think a member of my family decided i didnt need them any more and disposed of them for me[:@] Was fun whilst it last though[:D]
16. My first bike was a Puch three speed with the gears on the handle bar.... Then I had a Yamaha FS1i   looked like this one, Which made you feel real grown up as it looked like a proper motor bike  Then it was a Yamaha 100 from my big sister who had gone on to have a Triumph Bony 750 Not an exceptional list but was as some have said the only way of getting around on your own from a village. Judith
17. Regine and G and I We will be thinking of you over the next few weeks, accept our thoughts and love and we hope everything goies well.   Judith
18. hello Odile Thank you I am sure Louis appreciates all the best wishes he recieves.  I did want to say hello on the French talk thread but its taken me days to try to work out what to say.[:P] Mainly because although I can say and undertand a little french it is very different when you go to write it down, hence my use of babelfish.  You cant be that far from me as I officially live in Warwickshire which is in the midlands[:)]  Would love to have taken Louis for a long walk as he has sooooo much energy but poor love he isn't allowed more than a short hobble. Hi Ian and Frenchie  yes he has been injected so it was not as bad as it could have been thank goodness but he needed antibiotics and some TLC. I hope you have a wonderful week end and feel better soon Frenchie you have been suffering for quite a while now.  I do know that my two enforced days off have given me time to recharge my batteries and I am now eager to get on and full of energy, luckily only 5 more days of school then half term.  Are you doing anything nice at half term?  Well because of the rather large vets bill this month we will be staying at home.[:D] Judith
19. bonjour Frenchie Yes the kids are really enjoying the weather and it is very sunny here today all the snow has started to melt, unfortunately the dog has broken his leg and is not allowed to play in the snow he has it all pinned up and only had the operation on thursday. This was just afterhe first broke his leg on wednesday whilst running on  the beach with Richard. As you can see his best freind 'Tiger' the blck cat, who is 8 months old the same as Loius, is just checking to see if he is ok. Bless him he is not having much luck we have only had him 4 weeks and he has been to the vets 5 times so far, ear infection, kennel cough and now his broken leg, lets hope thats all for  a while,  he is such a lovely dog its such a shame poor thing.
