  1. We had them in the roof space for 10 years or more until we went around every possible entry point and fixed strong wire mesh and since then we have had no problem. They can get in through very small gaps and have been known to lift roof tiles. They make a mess of any insulation, can chew through electric cables and the ammonia smell from the urine is horrendous. Whatever you do it has to be strong and solid and not just a bit of foam. Good luck - you will need it. Dave
  2. We have used a shop in Verteillac which is not far away. They supply woodburners and fit them if you want and have a good reputation. The name is Ets Merlaud and it is facing the square in the centre of the village. It looks like a small grocery store but opens up at the back with all DIY, electrical goods and woodburners. ( nicknamed the 'Tardis' shop ). Tel 05 53 91 60 03  fax 05 53 90 67 04
  3. Rayburn have recently brought out a stove designed to burn wood only. It is a Rayburn model 345W which also provides up to 35,000 BTu/h for central heating which they say can run up to 12 radiators. UK price earlier this year war £4,250. Regards, Dave
  4. When I wire up my kitchen I would like to use wired socket outlets or ' plaque sortie cable' for connecting oven, dishwasher, fridge etc. However unlike the UK they are not switched so the only way to isolate these units is at the fuse board. Is this correct or do they need a local isolator switch and if so which type? Regards, Dave
  5. Does anyone know how much output is achieved from a DC unit when the outside temperature is down below zero? Are the units noisy and do you need one for each room or are there larger units available that cover several rooms? Dave
  6. I am talking about RO2V type - 3 core double insulated cable
  7. If I use the French 3 core rigid cable for extending my house wiring, is it OK to use it behind plasterboard and when going between floor joists without using gaine? I assume that anywhere it would be encased in plaster then I would need to use gaine. Does anyone know what the rules are? Dave
  8. Thanks. Has anyone seen a translation of the new forms?
  9. Does the Declaration de Travaux form still contine for minor works?
  10. We still have the EJP tariff which we find to be a very economical tariff option. Our supply at the moment is 12kw but I understand that the EJP tariff includes up to 18kw and we would like to increase our capacity.  Has anyone managed to increase their capacity and kept the EJP tariff?
