1. "However in 15 years I have never found a manned Autoroute station  that does not accept UK visa and mastercards including Egg cards." All I have to say is that in 15 years you must have been fortunate enough not to stop at the same manned autoroute station that my wife and I stopped at last August. Just trying to be helpful maybe I shouldn`t bother!! Regards Colin
2. "Autoroutes service stations accept UK cards except the very occasional night time unmanned services which require a French card to be used in the petrol pump" Driving back from Urciers to Calais in the not to distant past stopped at a manned service station on auto-route which would not accept British credit card (notice on petrol pumps). Best to have some cash. Regards colin
3. Travelled out with this company 30/10/04 slight delay still only 60 minute trip, travelled back 6/11/04 another slight delay again still a 60 minute trip. £25 each way gets my vote every time. regards colin
4. I would think that the reason is that French copper pipe is thicker the British copper pipe and that you are not getting it hot enough. p.s I think that because of increased water pressure French plumbers normally braze instead of soldering. regards colin
5. Gas I think you must have swopped your test results as 7.2-7.6 would seem spot on for PH and if you have not added chlorine to your pool lately then you should expect a chlorine reading of zero. The PH minus and PH plus are simply used to raise or lower the Ph level. Other winterising would depend on weather or not you expect the pool to freeze. Regards Colin
6. Alt Gr + 4 =€, at least on my set up it does Regards Colin (is this forum getting slower)
7. Why is this topic still pinned to the top of the board when nobody has shown any interest for the last two days. Is there a chance that this site will end up like TF where there are so many posts pinned to the top that it takes a lot of searching to find the latest posts. regards Colin
8.
Colin, Have you got script options, smilies, can see control panel etc ?
Gay I seem to have everything you mention if its any help I run my computer with Mcafee online anti virus and Mcafee personal firewall plus Regards Colin
9. Chlorine does not remain in the water (it gets used up doing its job of cleaning pool) hence the need to add daily dose. If you stop adding chlorine then check for its presence a few days later i am sure you wiil find none present. You should then be safe in using it no the garden. Remember a few thousand litres of water is a lot of garden watering. Regards Colin
10. I agree with Bob the only thing about the new forum which the owners would care about is that their logo appears on every page. I have noticed that useful postings seem to be in the decline Regards Colin
11. I still can`t understand this. It seems if I want to sell a house or a horse all I have to do is: 1. Ask people to reply to my e-mail address. 2. Tell people that it has been sanctioned by forum admin. 3. Wait until forum admin is on holiday then post on forum. 4. Hope that I have enough response before admin returns. or is this a case of every-one being equal be somes more equal than others. Regards colin
12. I see this post has the blessing of forum admin but it seems like first party advertising to me which is not allowed and should be removed by forum admin regards colin

When new to forums such as this it is always recommended that potential users should 'hang around' for a while, just to get the 'feel' of the place. On most forums there are facilities for users to look back through postings, or of course they can use the search facilities likewise provided. Regulars get fed up with answering identical quiries over and over again. What a snotty little reply this is . It seems to me hat there is a lot of truth in the saying "if you have nothing to say then say nothing" Regards Colin
14. I see Sir Jim`s now wearing a different shirt but i will be forever greatful that he played his best football along side Alan Gilzean in that great spurs side of the early 60`s. Just once in a while it`s good to be old enough to say    " I saw the great man play" Colin
15. Hi Miki I thought you were a Chelsea supporter but is your actavar not the Great Jimmy Greaves wearing the shirt of the great Tottenham Hotspur. (those were the days) Colin
