  1. Thanks Chris. If there is anyone else out there who knows anything more about this subject, or can suggest web sites where I can look, please let me know. Can I call it Indian Champissage (official name)? Suey
  2. Would Indian Head Massage be the same.  I am planning to qualify to practise this year. Thanks
  3. Is there anyone practising Indian Head Massage in the Pas de Calais? Suey
  4. Get a Roe Deer - they make great pruners!!! Suey
  5. Do you know which brand has the least calcium carbonate? Suey
  6. Can anyone recommend a good kennels, with heating, etc. in the Somme Picardy area.  I know some of them are like Stalag 10!!! We have a house in Pas de Calais but are willing to travel to get a decent boarding kennels.  We have three dogs so the price to take them back to England to our usual kennels is a bit prohibitive.  We have been so spoilt 'cos our kennels in East Kent is superb. Many thanks. Suey
  7. A good builder who also does plans and paperwork is Tony Jones of www.attenboroughjones.com based in Hesdin. Suey
  8. Hi Sarah, We are intending to move over to Ligny-sur-Canche in September and would like to attend classes.  Whereabouts in Hesdin is this cafe?  Thanks Suey
  9. Would she know of any good boarding kennels in the area for dogs.  We move over in September and it would be handy to find somewhere decent to leave our three dogs, one being a Rhodesian Ridgeback that can't be kenneled outside, when we come back to the UK or go on holiday - if we can't they come with us.  Many thanks. Suey
  10. Hello again, Would certainly agree with sommebay.  St Valerie is a lovely town, lots of nice restaurants always bustling.  Lovely. Suey
  11. Hi!  We have a house in Ligny-sur-Canche, lots of english live in the surrounding villages.  Where do you live in England?  We live in North East Kent and the journey takes us about three and a half hours door to door (eurotunnel allowing).  It is a lovely area.  We are moving out permanently in September (all being well). Good luck. Suey

    B****y Rabbits

Thank you both for the replies.  It does seem strange that they are leaving the honeysuckle, pyracantha, pulmonaria, buddleia (is that how you spell it?).  It is just such a pain having nurtured the bay for two years in the front of my house then move it to the back and the blighters got it. Thanks again. Suey ps good joke Thumper
  13. Has anyone any idea of how to stop rabbits eating my precious shrubs - arrived at the house for New Year to discover my 2ft Bay Tree was now a stump with no leaves, my climbing jasmine no longer has stems to climb (now 10 cm high) and my Cotinus is totally leafless! Is it just a shotgun job!!! Suey [6]
  14. When we were shareholders we often found that non-shareholders could get a better deal on early booking.  We therefore sold our shares about 5 years ago.    Suey [^o)]
  15. Is it just me or is the Calais to Folkestone window for travel getting less user friendly.  It used to be that you could travel back within your £39 return slot up to 15:00 now it appears to have changed to 14:00. [:^)] Suey
  16. Are there any aromatherapists in the Pas de Calais area?   Suey
  17. Yes here in Pas de Calais near Frevent they were reaping the maize on Sunday morning (in the rain).  Very busy time of year, there are so many fields of this stuff, it must be worth growing! Suey
  18. Where abouts near St Pol are you?  We are in the Canche valley and find that we are quite sheltered from some of the weather.  It tends to stop at the top of the hill at Nunq or at the top of Auxi hill. Suey
  19. A chemist in Boots at Broadstairs recommended Piriton and After Bite.  He had worked with a guy who had done a study in the tropics on bites and that is what he recommended.  So if you get the chance buy Piriton before you go to France or if you are over here visiting. Suey
  20. We have a house at Ligny-sur-Canche about 10 km from St Pol.  It does get cold in the winter down to about -10 but not constantly that temperature.  We have known it to be 20 degrees in February sometimes!! and the same week -6.  We have also known frosts in May - so be careful what you put out in the garden.  It is a lovely area.  We are moving out permanently next September.  We get through quite a lot of logs, but have central heating as well.  Good luck Suey
  21. Have also found that CCF are good.  We have an HSBC account in England so using the same bank seemed the best idea (CCF being part of HSBC).   Suey
  22. Can anyone recommend a good boarding kennel in the Pas de Calais area.  We will be moving over with our three dogs next September and it would be good to know, should the need arise. Many thanks. Suey
  23. We probably won't be breeding from her. We even made plans to have her spayed and it was the vet who asked if we were sure we didn't want to breed from her. On another note it would be nice to know if there are any other Ridgeback owners out there who can recommend a vet who would be used to treating the breed. We do have two other dogs - one rescued and one adopted from our son who changed his job and could not give the dog the time and exercise he needed. Suey
  24. Are there many of this breed in the Pas de Calais.  We plan to move over permanently next September (all being well!).  We have a one year old bitch and are wondering about breeding from her.    Suey
  25. We are just outside Frevent.  But only there school holidays and weekends until August 2006 when we move out permanently.  Looking forward to it so much. There are so many english in this region, its amazing. Sueyh
