  1. Am a bit miffed to discover I too am banking with the most expensive bank in my department and definetly not happy with there customer service, so will now be investigating changing banks.
  2. Well it is not quite time for him to go to the big doggy hotel in the sky. He has a nerve/spine problem so has been given an injection and tablets which whilst will not cure it will make him better with his mobility for the moment. We said to the vet that we thought aybe it was the end for him and whilst she said it wasn't time today she did say it would not be very long time to go. So hopefully this will make him more comfortable and he will be able to manage short strolls by the river again. Thanks for your messages and wishes.[:)] Sarah and Billy.
  3. I am sorry to report that my dog Billy is fast nearing the end of his time with us and was wondering what happens in France, as in England you can bring your pet back home with you to bury in the garden if you wish.  Can we still do this here or are there other procedures in France? Your replies will be most welcome, and can we ask for positive vibes this afternoon at around 2pm when Billy is going to the vet for an assessment. Thank you and best wishes. Sarah and Billy.
  4. Thank you Clair, So by the looks of things I don't neccessarily need to ring anyone until I hear back from Bolougne then. Am I right?
  5. Thanks for the link and translation google aswell. But now I am a bit confused surely reporting the theft and giving a statement at the gendarmerie yesterdays is regidtering the complaint or whatever. I will type what is on the form Gendarme gave me yesterday as i won't attach to post. It then gives address and telephone number.  I know I should know what this means but my brain just isn't functioning at the moment. Thanks for your help. Sarah
  6. I had my car stolen yesterday[:'(] and lovely local Gendarme surprisingly found it within a couple of hours of me reporting it gone and caught the people who took it as well. As you can imagine by head was a blur yesterday and didn't really understand a lot of what the Gendarme said to me.[8-)] As far as I know at the moment he has given me a Depot de Plaint form and I am supposed to phone a service d'aide aux victims. But after that I don't know what it is I am supposed to do and being hearing impaired me and phones not a good combination. That and I would say my french is just moving from basic into intermediate zone. Can any of you give me any ideas what it is I am supposed to do?

  8. Ernie was seen by the vet and had an opperation on thursday as he was in pain[:(] . We knew he had an internal injury but were not sure as the the full extent. The wall of his stomach has been damaged by the poison but thankfully not enough for it to be irrepareable. Now we now the full problem he can be treated properly and should be able in time to be release back into the wild. The Sanctuary are doing a wonderful job and this is the first time they have come across a hedgehog which has been sufficiently damaged by rat poison to break the stomach wall but without it being fatal, so Ernie is one special and lucky hedgehog.[:D] I would post a picture only I don't know how to at the moment.
  9. I can't remember the kilometers but it was roughly a 3 1/2 round trip. They are lovely people there and it turns out his leg is fine but his has an internal injury at the top which is why he wasn't putting wieght on his leg.  Possibly bleeding due to ingesting a small amout of rat poison.  So he will now be on anti poison medicine for the next 15 days and also a more thorough examination. They are positive though as he has been eating drinking and has good motions. As I don't work currently I have agreed to be a foster mum to any orphans  (so long as they have no injury then i would take them along to their centre) that turn up in the area, as at this time of year they gets lots of call regarding orphans and they have no-one in Pas de Calais to help until now.
  10. Thank you for these details, I have spoken with the santuary and they will be taking delivery tomorrow.
  11. Do any of you know of a wildlife rescue centre in the Pas de Calais region, as I have found an injured Hedgehog that will need more expert care than I can give it ?
  12. I have registered with Assedic and the ANPE and now just need to get my CV converted but no-one I have spoken to yet knows what the GCSEs or Alevels are in french for the CV. I have found a job I wish to apply for that was posted on ANPE yesterday and it requires CV to be taken so this is quite important. I have GCSE English B&C  (Bfor speaking and Listening C for written)                     Maths C                     German C                    Geography C                    Drama B and double science D design and tecnology D english lit D Alevel Law D Thanks in advance

    French Vets

My dog Lucy recently contracted Tick Diesease, very nasty.[+o(]  Whilst we and the vet were still trying to workout what was wrong with her we had and hours consult including x-ray general antibiotics, drip to rehydrate her blood test and she stayed at the vets then for the rest of the day for observation whilst we waited for the blood test to get back. Then she was given the Tick injection collect that evening all that for 80 euros .[blink]You could have knocked me down with a feather I was expecting and prepared to pay hundreds.
  14. I need to pay a bill and have forgotten my online password so thought I would use their telephone service. I get as far as tapping in my client number and pressing 2 to request paying by card but then I dont understand what the automated voice is telling me to do next. Sorry but my french is still a bit marginal not helped by the fact I am hard of hearing so never far well on the telephone, but at least with people you can ask them to rephase not possible with an automated service.[:'(] Can anyone tell me what i need to do next inorder to pay my bill please.[8-)] Thankyou for your time and consideration.[kiss] Sarah
  15. Other than having water butts. I have a 300 litre Butt that has been empty now for nearly 2 &1/2 weeks and have just bought and installed a 1000 litre Butt/tank. What other methods are there for saving and retaining water in the garden. I am a novice gardener and this is my first year at growing vegetables aswell.  Where I am in Pas de Calais hasn't seen any rain since the 3rd week in March. Fingers crossed if Meteo is right this time there should be some dropping over me on Saturday afternoon. I would greatly appreciate any tips you can pass on. Thankyou in advance. Sarah.
