  1. Our beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback has some sort of parasitic mite at the moment.  The vet has suggested Stronghold for the next couple of treatments, she is also being given cortosone tablets for two weeks.  Thankfully because she is so smooth haired we noticed it quickly but now hope our border collie and german shepherd cross type thing don't also get it. The vet said that Advantix is good most of the time but Stronghold is better under these circumstances. So may do alternate treatments with each as suggested by others. Suey

I have told her that it will not - but am I right??? Suey
  16. If you can get hold of the Patak curry pastes they are superb.  Good flavour without that powdery taste of curry powder.  Very authentic flavour and good recipes on outside of the jar.  Also have a good shelf life once opened. suey

  21. Hi everyone, this is a recipe my mum used to make (as you can tell from the regulo mentioned in the method!!) for MAIN COURSE.  I have made it a few times and would suggest that you make a little bit more sauce.  This is the original recipe:   Chicken Normandy   4 Portions of chicken fillet 1 large onion 2 oz butter 6 oz mushrooms 1 chicken stock cube 6 fl oz apple juice 2 level tablespoon flour pepper and salt to season 4 oz double cream 1 des sp. Fresh parsley     METHOD   Cut chicken into serving portions, trim and wipe mushrooms and chop onions. Make stock using, 4 fl oz hot water with ½ stock cube, and 6 fl. Oz apple juice.  Melt butter in pan, when hot put in chicken coated with some flour and fry until golden brown.  Drain and put chicken in casserole.  Fry chopped onion in butter, add mushrooms and sauté these.  Add flour and cook for a minute.  Add stock mixture, mix in gradually, bring to boil pour over chicken.   Cook for 1 hour on regulo 4.  When cooked add double cream.  To reheat cook on regulo 2 covered with tin foil.
  22. We travelled from Northern France to just south of Valencia in February of this year and stayed in IBIS hotels with our three large dogs.  The dogs were welcomed - fee is 5 euro per dog but at all three of the hotels we were only charged for one.  ETAP also accept them.  The route (A7) we took had plenty of service areas to stop with room to walk the dogs.  We stopped every two hours to water and exercise them. Good luck Suey
  23. Could anyone tell me what the french for Universal Joint is?  Also the word for bush - which we think is the part that needs replacing (not bush as in shrub!!). Thank you. Suey
